Research Assistant, 2008-2009

- Developed the mathematical model of 3-D magnetic tweezers, built the

FEM model by ANSYS /APDL and analyzed the magnetic field, force field,

and the controllability of working volume. Obtained the parameters of

the model using Matlab/Optimization toolbox.

- Applied the existing 2-D magnetic tweezers to cell mechanics research

(sponsored by NSF), including preparation of cell sample, operation of

inverted/confocal microscope, incubator.

Permanent Magnet Synchronous Torque Motor (PMSM) Design and Its Vector

Control (for Chinese Navy)

- Completed the whole system design, manufacture, and assembly, and the

prototype motor was followed by the Xi'an Micro-motor Research

Institute

- Optimized the magnetic field of PMSM using ANSYS

- Designed and implemented a mechanical turntable for the PMSM, used a DC

torque motor to measure the torque of the PMSM

- Presented and realized a novel approach of motor coil manufacturing,

designed two sets of specific mechanical clamps; applied for a National
