Recruited by this leading national retailer to manage the $25MM

transportation operations for Northwest United States. Hands-on

involvement of the day-to-day operations for two DCs including

training/coaching Load Planners, driving process improvement in daily

operations planning, route optimization, on-time deliveries and cube

utilization. Responsible for budget management along with service provider

and customer relationships.

Recruited as the Transportation Manager by Famous Footwear in 2005 to

manage $27MM operations including truckload, intermodal, drayage, LTL and

3PL pool distribution. Famous Footwear is a nationwide chain of over 925

retail stores in the United States, which offers a variety of footwear from

brands like: Nike, Skechers, Aerosoles, Steve Madden, New Balance,

Converse, Puma and many other brands.. Some of my key contributions

. Designed and implemented cost forecasting/tracking process and KPI

measurements

. Coached inbound planners to optimize routing practices, result 17%

increase in cube utilization, 16% fewer shipments, and 7% cost

savings, overall over $380K freight savings

to save over $200K

. Realized overall TL rate decrease in 2006 by implementing standard

freight budget and five Planners. Primary responsibilities included, but

not limited to, managing the domestic shipment planning using Manugistics

TMS, special project routing, and maximizing backhaul. Built strong

communication with buying teams to drive process improvement and cost

key player in rate negotiation

. Creatively generated over $700K in freight savings during my first

300 vendors
