PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Successfully led project teams to on-time, on-budget successful completions
and startups including a $1.3 Billion grass roots Ethylene Plant where I
received CEO recognition.
Led the development of a comprehensive project control program including
integrated estimating, budgeting, scheduling, progress reporting and
project reports.
Led the selection and implementation of a comprehensive materials
management program that included material catalogs, vendor selection and
qualification, material planning, requisitioning and procurement,
expediting and receiving.
Led the development of a corporate-wide HS&E program for contractors, which
resulted in the corporation receiving the Business Roundtable National
Safety Award.
Assumed responsibility of a 400 employee direct hire, In-House Construction
Company after a difficult union election. This effort restored management
credibility, improved safety performance and productivity and reduced
controllable costs 50% or $10M per year. Negotiated initial union
contract.
Led the successful effort to demobilize an In-House Construction Company
and replace it with a major Construction Contractor. Realized savings of
more than $12MM in the first year and comparable savings continued.
Assumed EPC responsibility for a $40M process unit expansion that was
greatly over budget and behind schedule. Reorganized and restructured the
project team which turned the project around and completed it on schedule
and within budget. Received a corporate recognition award for this effort.
Successfully executed a $50M crash rebuild project in record time utilizing
a unique rotating seven day, twenty-four hour shift. This effort received
a corporate recognition award.
Developed and implemented an effective corporate-wide constructability
program. Trained personnel from multiple company locations and in
contractor offices. Increased project execution effectiveness resulting in
15% savings on construction projects.
Chaired Business Roundtable Local Construction User Councils in south Texas
and West Virginia. Increased membership and effectiveness of both councils
resulting in "More Construction for the Money."
Chaired Business Roundtable Committee that established a very successful
Merit Shop Craft Training Program in south Texas. The program received a
state recognition award and many have graduated from the program.
