For the last 7 years I have worked in the IT Department initially as the
Program Manager for the development and implementation of a new enterprise
wide cost system and then as the Manager of Application Support/Business
Analyst for all of the global Project Controls tools and lastly as the Sr.
Business Analyst for the new cost system. As the Program Manager I was
responsible for identifying the user requirements, presenting the
justification to senior management for the new application, writing the
functional specification, reviewing the technical design specifications,
overseeing the development effort and cost and schedule control and earned
value reporting for the project. I also participated in the technical
design reviews and attended the weekly development team meetings as well as
traveling to India to meet with the development team. I also developed the
test scripts for the initial release, participated in the integration
testing, set up and ran the initial user acceptance test (UAT), set up and
ran all of the initial training sessions with the users and wrote the user
manual for the new application. While in the Application Support
Manager/Business Analyst role I worked with the users to identify new
requirements as well as bug fixes, prepared the necessary functional
specifications for the subsequent releases, developed the test scripts for
and set up and ran all of the UAT's, coordinated the resolution of any
issues identified during the UAT's and wrote the user release notes for
each release. At management's request I later focused just on the business
analyst role. In that role I worked with the users to identify new
requirements, required bug fixes, proposed packaging and prioritization of
releases from both a technical and functional standpoint and continued to
prepare test scripts run the UAT's and write the user release notes. I also
have 30 years of experience in project management and project controls both
in the office and on construction sites.
