Electrical/RF Design Engineer
Performed on-site electrical engineering for Motorola Inc. Managed
development and testing of all major cell phones devices that were shipped
out by the company. Responsible for testing, providing data, utility and
equipment installation, engineering reviews section and coordinated
information or technology transfers. Resolved various and diverse issues
relating to both product and manufacturing process.
. Coordinated test implementation, troubleshooting, and fixed product
issues on Motorola wireless mobile devices.
. Performed EMI (Radio Frequency Interference) Test Verification for
iDEN, GSM, LTE and UMTS handsets under static and free space
conditions with applicable solutions.
. Designed new electrical grounding system, which minimized risks, met
compliance issues, and reduced product delay for iDEN, 2G, UMTS and 3G
technologies
. Improved UMTS Bands 1, 2, and 4 impedance matching on the receiver
line up
. Successfully communicated and reported test procedures, verification,
and implemented fixes for multiple projects such as Iron Rock,
DiamondBack, Jorian radios to other groups
. Assessed, analyzed and identified existing gaps and engineering
problems, discussed findings with Project Manager, and worked closely
with other groups, minimizing project delays.
. Part of development team for product implementation. Responsible for:
Frequency Generation for iDEN including Phase noise reduction,
receiver adjacent channel noise reduction, suppressing interference to
/ from CDMA / UMTS circuitry and optimizing dual functionality of iDEN
with CDMA or UMTS at sub circuit level.
. Worked with mechanical team to implement a metal bootstrap on top of
the VCO shield to reduce EMI interference to RF antenna, which helped
save money for overall project design and reduced shipment time of
phone. Received Bravo award for fixing the problem in a timely manner
and shipping the product on time.
CURL BAPTISTE 2.
. Electrical lead for Iron Rock GPS UMTS program: Electrical lead for
Iron Rock program starting from concept to ship acceptance, where team
was able to meet ship date before time, thus saving company millions
of dollar.
. Engineer and analyzer for all iDEN specialty products:
Responsibilities included management and test of all electrical and RF
testing for Transmitter, Receiver, Antenna, GPS, and Power management
lineup for FCC and ship acceptance qualification for all iDEN NASCAR
and Boost mobile products
. Traveled Internationally and Domestically to manage and train
different depots to set up repair, testing, troubleshooting and
assemble facility for iDEN Motorola phones
. Performed extensive testing on UMTS / iDEN GPS and GLONASS devices.
. Assisted in troubleshooting any issues involving vendor parts used on
Motorola products, such as Integated Circuits (IC), Operational
Amplifier and Switch.
. Work closely with both Software / Mechanical groups ensuring product
functionality worked according to customer requests.
EDUCATION
Bachelor of Science (BS), Electrical Engineering, Florida Atlantic
University, Boca Raton, FL 2009
Associate of Arts (AA), Engineering, Palm Beach Community College, Boca
Raton, FL 2007
Electronic Technology Certificate, Atlantic Vocational Technical Center, FL
ED2 (Engineering Design 2): Built Aeroponics autonomous System. Focus was
power section, responsibilities in design was to build PH monitoring
system, which check concentration of nutrients and other chemicals supplied
to plants. Ensure light system was able to deliver enough light to plants
while being controlled autonomously and making sure enough power was
available to microcontroller, sensors, H-bridges, and DC motors from time
seeds were placed in soil to growth of plant.
ED 1 (Engineering Design 1): Designed and controlled remote controlled
vehicle to go through track and shoot tennis balls through basketball hoop
at set distance. My task in design was to make sure the vehicle electrical
circuitry would work properly with the integrated wireless remote control
by the basic stamp microcontroller. I had to make sure that the sensor used
for navigation through the course was working properly to complete the task
and there was enough power generated by the motor to shoot the tennis balls
over a distance. The vehicle was able to stop at the designated area of the
course and was successful in releasing the balls to the target location
with a 55% of accuracy.
