MDM/EDW/BI Implementation : Feb 2009 -

Sep 2009

MDM Subject matter Expert: Client products division is fragmented across

the globe. Customer and vendor information are repeatedly stored in each

product divisions (e.g. Pharmaceutical, Animal Health, Nutritional).

Business was facing core problems to identify their client and suppliers to

maximize their interaction (selling). Every vendor creation takes time, and

approval processes (High cost). And pharmaceutical products application is

tightly coupled point-to-point integrations among the systems, along with

information consolidated in some data stores. To realize a business

capability, enhancements need to be made in application systems as well.

Client recognized to improve their business capabilities by provided

centralized data management systems. Accenture worked with client to

develop data management solution that includes master data management,

enterprise data warehouse, and business intelligence.

. Played as a SME to provide prioritized data solution on MDM, BI

and EDW

. Delivered Enterprise Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata, and

ETL solution

. Interacted with client business executives and Accenture to

develop cost, resource, time estimation for entire project (3

years plan)

. Designed end to end data architecture, project plans, and resource

planning for the entire project

. Enforced data management processes across the enterprise (part of

People, Process, Technology pillars)

. Managed team of 7 consultants, 3 client and 2 offshore resources

initiatives

Enterprise Data Management

Nov 2007 - Jan 2009

MDM Program Consultant: Identify client business issues and provide

centralized solution for single view of the enterprise

Goal: Deliver a complete & accurate view of customers to an Agent & Client

Desktop. Manage an 'enterprise view' of parties (agents / customers /

service providers) and associated hierarchies for effective relationship

management.

Challenges: All data accessed by Agents and employees is policy-centric; a

customer centric view is currently unavailable. The lack of a customer-

centric view significantly increases CSR training times and decreases

efficiency at the customer touch point.

Solution: MDM solution provides the ability to look up the complete profile

of a customer (party id), including associated policy information with a

single query. The complete customer profile delivered to all systems that

issue a 'get party' business service (based on their entitlements).

Accomplishments:

. Developed project estimation from planning to deployment including

pilot and Proof of Concept (PoC)

. Identified data management gap, cost of data replications, and

solution benefits for short and longer terms

. Developed ROI, value proposition for the entire data management

project

. Identified duplicate/redundancy data systems and developed

application retirement plan along with application consolidation

. Designed data governance and data quality process for the subject

areas including periodic communication plan to the business team

. Developed evolutionary master data architecture including EDW and BI

data stores for party and products

. Developed data delivery architecture for subscribing applications and

trained business users and application owners

Business Benefits Achieved:

. Single view of party data across all lines of business and channels

leads to a consistent customer experience

. Business process efficiency through 'once and done' processing of

customer information

. By leveraging a BI and an Enterprise Data Warehouse with MDM solution,

customer information are further enriched

Business Issues: Client had many supplier and supplier owned systems. It

was time-consuming process to get a single version of supplier and product

information that fulfill client business requirement. Sales and marketing

department spent time to resolve issues instead of their core

functionalities. Many external vendors systems used various tools to

provide data which created issues in Client information systems. MDM

solution provided, quality data that the business can instantly access, and

integrated, accurate, current view of the products, supplier, and customer

information in a single location

. Developed MDM program road map including plan, analyze, design, Build,

test and deploy phases

. Identified and designed master entities, synchronization and

harmonization requirements

customer, vendor information

. Integrated MDM hub with Clinical information systems and life science
