Dear Hiring Manager:
If you are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer, Engineer, or
Industrial Engineer, then you may wish to consider my qualifications. I
have the education, relevant background and determination to contribute to
your company's objectives for progress.
Allow me to introduce myself. I am presently the owner of a Mr. Sandless
Wood Floor Refinishing business in York, PA. As owner, I have trained and
managed three employees, handled all inbound and outbound calls, made cold
calls to local businesses and realtor offices, dealt with every customer
issue with great success, and balanced the businesses budget every month.
Prior to starting this business I worked as a Project Engineer at CTE,
Inc., a tool and die plant in York, PA, for nearly two years. As the only
Project Engineer on staff I reviewed production processes in various areas
and identified methods for increased operational efficiency.
While at CTE, Inc, I did some of the following:
< Served as our companies Continuous Improvement Team (CIT) leader.
< Developed a Warehouse Plan that illustrated methods to improve storage
space to the maximum. Along with the Warehouse Plan, I setup a company
Succession Plan for future reference.
< Designed, manufactured, and implemented numerous mechanisms and devices
that increased stamping productivity and efficiency.
< Setup a Procedural book for the Head Warehouse position.
< Upgraded or built all workstations to assist employees in a more
efficient manner. Added more storage space for tools and set-up
equipment, and equipped each station with additional lighting.
My on-the-job experience also includes relevant employment with Gibraltar
DFC Strip Steel, LLC, in Farrell, PA, which is part of Duferco Farrell
Corporation. I worked at this plant for two summers while attending
college, gaining valuable experience with machine operations. I also
dismantled and rebuilt one of the Hot Strip Mill's three reheat furnaces,
contributing to improved plant safety and cost effective operations. In an
earlier role, I worked as an inspector at Cantar/Polyair Corporation in
Youngstown, OH, an industrial plant that manufactures vinyl covers for
swimming pools.
I strengthened my ability to communicate effectively with others and to
work as a team player while pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Industrial
Engineering. At Grove City College, I was selected in my junior year to
serve as Inter-fraternity President and was a member of the campus football
team.
In closing, I am mathematically-inclined and enjoy applying my
troubleshooting skills to streamline operations and save costs for a
company. Given the opportunity, I am confident that my professional
experience and educational background will allow me to positively impact
your objectives for growth and profits. Thank you for your time in
reviewing my qualifications. I look forward to personally discussing my
background with you.
Sincerely,
Joseph Turjanica III
