SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
Design and Hands-on Experience
. Designed a spreadsheet for an energy usage analysis for heating and
cooling of an ethanol plant to
determine sources of energy loss and areas for reduction.
. Followed piping and instrumentation diagrams to label valves in a
plant.
. Experience reading and constructing process flow diagrams.
. With team members, designed and tested a briquette system for
alternative energy in an underdeveloped
country for heating and cooking purposes.
. Designed, programmed, and constructed a 4th place winning Lego robot
to deposit balls in a goal.
. Designed print layouts for school engineering magazine
Chemical Engineering Experience
. Experience in operating and technical analysis of engineering
equipment including distillation columns,
evaporators, dryers, pumps, and heat exchangers both manually
and using a DeltaV digital control system.
. Collected liquid and solid samples and used NIR and HPLC to analyze
and determine if products were
within specifications. Used results to modify operating
conditions at an ethanol plant.
. Experience writing technical reports to analyze lab experiments.
. Experience simulating various production processes using AspenHysys
and Aspen Plus as well as
economic analyses of the processes.
. Experience in computer software packages including AspenHysys, Aspen
Plus, MathCad, Mathmatica,
Microsoft Word and Excel, Visio, and COMSOL Multiphysics.
Management Experience
. Team leader for senior lab. Coordinated two other team members for
completion and analysis of lab results leading to a final written
report on a steam-jacketed tank and a tubular flow reactor.
. Trained new workers at Starbucks on customer service and how to
prepare our products.
