outpatient settings. Responsibilities included participation in

daily team rounds, managing patient-specific drug therapy,

monitoring for drug-related problems, medication cost

containment, providing inservice education, performing patient

and family education, counseling patients regarding medication

therapy and compliance, evaluating patient satisfaction of

hospital and clinic pharmacy services, precepting pharmacy

residents and students, protocol development, transplant service

cost analysis, development of cost reduction strategies, and

participation in Patient Selection Committee, Transplant QA,

Transplant CQI Pharmacy Subgroup, Journal Club, and Clinical

Resource Management Taskforce meetings.

Also, performed the role of Clinical Transplant Research

Coordinator in designing, implementing, and conducting clinical

trials. Responsibilities included protocol development, IRB

submissions, coordinating trials with Investigational Drug

Services, Clinical Laboratories, Radiology, Nursing, and Study

Sponsors, monitoring patients throughout the clinical trial,

documenting patient specific information using Case Report Forms

and Source Documents, creating study budgets for submission to

the Clinical Trials Office, and writing grants for funding site

initiated projects.

responsibilities included interviewing patients regarding drug

therapy, assessing compliance, assessing the efficacy and safety

of drug therapy, recommending changes in medication regimens,

and patient counseling. Additional responsibilities included

precepting UCSF pharmacy students, answering drug information

questions, providing inservices, and weekend staffing in various

clinical settings. Obtained Hospital-based certifications in

pediatrics, geriatrics, total parenteral nutrition, and code

blue.
