lab pilot scale to small production scale,

including performing cost estimation for new

products, specifying equipment modifications,

performing Process Hazard Analysis via Layer of

Protection Analysis (LOPA), and process

troubleshooting.

Implemented a safety improvement on an established

product line that lead directly to a yield

improvement, and set the precendent for further

improvements.

Streamlined Process Hazard Analysis system. PHAs

take a fifth of the man-hours, but are more

consistent, more detailed, and more resolution

oriented than previous process.

procedures, and general troubleshooting.

Reduced TOC metric (liquid waste sent to treatment)

by 18% using Six Sigma methodology and philosophy.

Modified stripping procedures for products that

reduced cycle time by 25% and variability by 50%.

Implemented a $450K capital project to increase

reactor vacuum capacity that exceeded expectations

by 52% without an increase in cost. The system is

also more reliable, flexible, and energy efficient

than the previous reactor vacuum system.

Improved batch recipe control system programming

for 40+ products. Eliminated safety and

environmental hazards and increased plant capacity

by 7% through streamlined batch programming.

Created systems from scratch to monitor, report and

ensure compliance with Title V permit. These

systems were then able to cut environmental

reporting efforts from several days to minutes, and

were later critical in cycle time reduction efforts

for the plant.

Designed an inexpensive and effective replacement

process to transform scrap waste into sellable

product. New process is safer, more environmentally

friendly, and consumes no critical equipment hours.

Jun 2000-Jan 2002 Cytec Industries Willow Island,

Process Reliability Engineer

Duties included equipment specification,

standardization, maintenance troubleshooting, and

design and implementation of equipment reliability

improvement programs site-wide across three

production plants and two utility plants.

Created and administered an equipment vibration

analysis and oil analysis program. Trained 30+

operators to perform basic condition monitoring on

equipment.

Coordinated data integrity efforts for the site in

the corporate wide implementation of a new

Computerized Maintenance Management System

(Maximo). Directed a team of six temporary

employees to complete the transition from the old

CMMS.
