EXPERIENCE
Daido Metal Bellefontaine L.L.C., Bellefontaine, OH 4/5/1995 to
12/31/2009
Engineering Manager (last), Project Engineering Manager, and Manufacturing
Engineer
. Directly supervised employees in the Manufacturing Engineering, Tool
Room, Tool Design and Inspection, Environmental & Safety, Spares Crib,
and Facilities departments. Employee responsibilities include
interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing
work; appraising, rewarding, and disciplining; addressing complaints
and resolving problems.
. New product and equipment launch leader that included planning, cad
layouts, cost analysis, capital requests for equipment purchases and
moves, installation, start-up, debugging, gauging, gauge R&Rs, and
capability data to provide a quality, on time, and within budget
product. Continued to support, monitor, and improve processes after
launch and during production phase.
. I researched, gathered and analyzed data, planned, justified, managed,
and implemented cost savings projects in the areas of utility costs,
tooling purchase and fabrication costs, plant service contract costs,
process improvement, and waste reduction activities.
. Used OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) data to target areas for
improvement activities.
. Updated, improved, and maintained production and plant equipment
preventative maintenance programs. Was responsible for creating an
improved equipment downtime tracking system to better target TPM and
PM system improvements.
. Created, altered, and trouble shot Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi PLCs.
. Created and updated FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and
process control plans.
. Used SPC and geometric dimensional tolerances on a regular basis.
. Developed, designed, and implemented guarding systems and safety
programs for our production equipment, including power presses for
compliance to OSHA rules and guidelines.
. Redesigned, rebuilt, tested and debugged a special purpose high speed
boring machine with updated electrics, hydraulics, part
insertion/extraction systems, and cutting tool designs to increase
output, improve capability, and reduce setup time.
. Created and implemented Daido's version of project review process to
create uniform procedures for project planning, creation, tracking,
and implementation. This change resulted in higher percentage of on-
time and within budget projects from all of our engineers.
. Responsible for EHS program, EMS program, and ISO 14001 development
and re-certification.
. Participated in QS9000 implementation and recertification.
. Implemented and managed engineering change request system.

Graduated: BS Degree; Major: Electronic Engineering Technology; GPA: 3.72
Semester System
The University of Kentucky, Graduate School of Engineering, Lean
Manufacturing Systems Certification Course
. This compressed format consisted of 6-sessions, with the duration of
each session running two days and containing all of the instructional
requirements & labs to receive The Graduate School Engineering,
Masters of Science in Lean Manufacturing Systems.
. The instructors for this course were the same professors teaching the
"Lean" Masters program at the University, but because of its
compressed nature could only provide certification.
NOTE: I am additionally a current member of The Clark State Community
College of Engineering Technologies Advisory Committee.
