Supplier of transmission shafts for Honda.
Manufacturing 1 Manager - My responsibilities were to manage the
Safety, Quality, Cost, Machine downtime, Production and Efficiency of the
Cold forming, Heat treat, Countershaft, Oil hole, Induction tempering and
deburring areas. It was also my responsibility to schedule the delivery of
the raw material to the plant and the production plans for each department,
based on customer demands. I was Project Leader for three different Quality
Circle groups and also the Project Leader for the new counter shaft job
launch.
Nov. 1995 - Sept. 2001 Horizon Technology Group - Tiffin Division Tiffin,
Ohio. Supplier of wheel nuts, ATL nuts, sparkplug shells and various other
parts to GM, Chrysler and Ford, along with many other Tier 2 and Tier 3
suppliers.
Business Unit Manager / Maintenance Manager - My responsibilities
included overseeing the production of 40 different parts in all phases of
production, including cold forming, tapping, thread rolling and multi-
spindle chuckers, to meet customers demands. Along with the production
side, I was responsible with all the machine maintenance and tool room
support. I helped team members write and update level 2 and 3, QS-9000
documents, worked with and created teams for continuous improvement plans,
attended A.P.Q.P. meetings, performed capability studies on new job
launches and monitored SPC charting at all machines to insure only quality
products were being produced. I also made many customer visits for advanced
quality planning for new job launches and any mass production quality
concerns.
Sept. 1994 - Oct. 1995 EPCO - Fremont, Ohio Remanufacturer of plastic
injection molding and die cast machinery.
Project Manager / Master Scheduler Duties included working closely
with Ford Motor Company's Manufacturing Engineers on all their machines, in
house, to insure they were remanufactured to their specifications, to keep
them updated on the progress of each machine and help coordinate projects
internally with Engineering, Purchasing, Sales and shop Supervisors.
As Master Scheduler, my responsibilities were to update and publish
the shop schedule, which I developed an a Lotus spreadsheet, with the help
of shop personnel.
June 1994 - Sept. 1994 Fastener Equipment Corp. Chicago, Illinois Broker
of new E.W. Menn thread roll machines and Asahi Sanuc cold headers and
remanufacturers of cold heading and thread roll equipment.
Remanufacturing Manager - Responsible for quoting, scheduling and
purchasing for the remanufacturing side of the business.
Jan. 1994 - June 1994 Manufacturing Consultant For three small businesses
in the Tiffin area.
Jan. 1992 - Jan. 1994 Form Forge Machinery Inc. Findlay, Ohio
Remanufacturer of hot, cold and warm forming equipment.
Manufacturing Manager - Responsible for all shop personnel and
scheduling all jobs according to customer specifications. Also worked with
Engineering and shop personnel on new design concepts to insure the on time
delivery of each project.
June 1976 - Jan. 1992 National Machinery Co. Tiffin, Ohio. Manufacturer
of new and remanufacturer of used, hot, cold and warm forming equipment.
Machine Assembly - I stared on the assembly floor where we built
machines up to the 1/2" size. As experience was gained, I was moved to all
other assemble departments, building cold formers, presses, bolt makers and
forging machines.
Service Technician - Worked on machines in customer's plants for
warranty or repair work. Also worked closely with Engineering,
Manufacturing and shop personnel to build many newly designed machines.
Technical Assistant - Worked with assemble personnel, Engineering,
Mfg. Engineering, Sales and Supervisors through the company to insure
quality products were manufactured and built in a timely fashion. Was also
used to "fill in" for any Supervisor that was on vacation or sick, in any
department through out the shop. Was then assigned to work in the expanding
CNC Machining departments to work with Product Engineering, Mfg.
Engineering Programming and machining Supervisors to help improve machine
efficiency and establish machining standards for the new Formax Formers and
Thread Rolling machines.
Sept. 1974 - June 1976 T.D.C. Construction - Fostoria, Ohio.
Worked part time during High School and full time during the summer
months for a General Contractor and was involved with all aspects of
building and remodeling homes and businesses.

Hopewell-Loudon High School graduate, Bascom, Ohio.
Attended various seminars and workshops, including Product,
Financial, SPC, Johnson Thread Gauging, 8=D problem solving, Equipment R&M
Planning through Ford Motor Company, Quality and Productivity Improvement,
Supervisor update classes and several computer training classes.
Completed courses in ISO 1101 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
and Leadership training.
Previously Certified for Adult CPR and Standard First Aid.
Hobbies include woodworking, cabinet making, restoring old vehicles and
woodworking equipment and home improvements for myself, friends and
relatives.
