I have worked have worked with scores of individual students, assisting
them to make the transition from the Department of Adult Education to post-
secondary education and the world of work. Responsibilities included
interviewing students, developing rapport, assessing students' needs and
strengths, assisting with the completion of college admissions applications
and financial aid paper work. I have also worked with students to assist
them in finding career paths appropriate to their individual skills,
abilities and aptitudes.
West Georgia Technical College, EL/Civics Grant Coordinator, Adult
Education, 2010-2011
I established six EL/Civics Classes in four counties served by the
technical college. These classes have afforded adult learners the
opportunity to explore American Culture, improve their English language
communication skills and work towards obtaining citizenship. I
commissioned and collaborated in the creation and dissemination of
marketing materials that attracted dozens of students to the program. I
managed the program's budget, allocating resources for curriculum supplies
and materials, marketing, payroll and travel. I am responsible for
hiring, training, supervising and supporting the instructional staff and
other team members. I was able to employ four teachers and three aides
with years of experience working with adult learners.
Adjunct ESL Instructor, West Georgia Technical College, Adult Education
2006-2008; 2009-2010
While serving in this position, I helped hundreds of students learn English
and/or improve their literacy and communication skills. My pedagogical
approach often included the incorporation of technology and multi-media
presentations in classroom lessons. I have worked with students of various
educational, cultural and economic backgrounds, at all times being
sensitive to both cultural and linguistic differences.
Douglas County Department of Family and Children Services
Case Manager (Investigator), Department: Child Protective Services, 05-06
I was able to arrest, deter and prevent cases of child abuse and neglect
all while protecting clients' confidentiality and right to privacy.

development and functioning support needed to carry out and meet basic
needs and activities of daily family life.
West Central Technical College, Adjunct GED Instructor Department of Adult

In this position I was responsible for teaching incarcerated males in
preparation for taking the GED test. I also worked with non-incarcerated
students. Combined, I served more than 80 students, many whom advanced one
or more academic levels before separating, and a number of whom actually
obtained a GED.
Krystal Company, General Restaurant Manager, Atlanta West Market
2002-2004
As the general restaurant manager I improved food cost by 10-15%. By
driving sales and focusing on efficiently providing service, my team was
able to decrease labor cost and maximize bottom line profits. I was
instrumental in building a high performance team with a can do attitude.
Changing the atmosphere of the restaurant lead to improved inspection
scores and the awarding of the most improved restaurant of the year. I was
also designated an Eagle Manager, which is a prestigious honor bestowed
upon exceptional restaurant managers and multi-unit supervisors.
Krystal Company, Assistant Restaurant Manager, Atlanta West Market
2000-2002
In the role of Assistant Manager my responsibilities included overseeing
the day to day operations, supervising and evaluating employee performance,
inventory control and payroll. I was deployed to several under-performing
units in an effort to reverse sluggish financial and operational
performance. In doing so, I was able to implement strategic processes for
achieving maximum performance in these areas which resulted in an average
sales increase of 10%. These efforts improved employee work satisfaction
which decreased turnover and tardiness.
