1) Timberland, Flex PLM Implementation

Description:

Timberland is a well known name in Apparel industry. This project was to implement the FlexPLM in

integration with two other legacy systems. The salient points of this project were

• The inbound and outbound integration with two other legacy systems.

• Since flexPLM was between the other two legacy systems so the integration was real time, approach

was to use staging tables in association with one master controller table and one master Id table.

Master controller table was the one that derives the integration. Integration was kicked off by a

service (Windchill queue service) so that to keep it running.

• Creating lifecycles and workflows to map CostSheet and Material and Material Color development

processes of Timberland.

• Customize OOTB CostSheet to include MOA (Multi Objects) to handle complex calculation.

Timberland has many international vendors and preferred factory across the world. Each country or

zone has its own rate (freight, tax, local landed cost etc.) and currency. To handle all these

complexity MOA and Look up table approach was used.

• Customize out of box LinePlan to address the majority of Timberland’s requirements for reporting

and visibility.

2) PTC, OnDemand Templates

Project Profile: This project aims at creation of template in Windchill PDMLink 8 that will configure

organization, product, project, OIR and the lifecycle.

• Allowing Wildfire Workspaces to find the parts with views using the Latest Configuration Setting

based on the Workspaces Config Spec Preferences

• Disabling of the templates at site label that is not needed for organization.

• Creation of templates for organization, product and project templates.

• Creation of team and enforcing the Access Rules.

3) Arima Corporation, Windchill 7 change management

Project Profile:

• To customize Windchill 7 change management system according to the Arima’s requirement.

• To critically analyze all processes, to look at inter linkages between different stages of change

management and bring synergy in all the stages (Change Request, Change Order and Change

Activity) through Lifecycle and Workflows.

• Attach those reference parts (changeable) that do not applied annotation.

• Modify the search functionality of the changeable so that it shows parts with annotation that are not

applied yet.

• Storing of all the substitute information for parts in the product structure of the annotated part in

table.

• Creation of complex workflow/lifecycle, assignment of participants, validation of each tasks,

customized activity like applying dated effectivity, tally expressions.

• Calling expressions through robot/task completion for attaching/removal of old and new reference

data in case of approval/cancellation of change request respectively.

4) Huawei technologies, Method Server Monitoring

Project Profile: This project aims the monitoring the multiple method server threads by pinging, registering

through server manager. In case of multiple Method server, the associated process id of the corresponding

hanging (unable to ping in a particular time interval) method server needs to be killed.

• Customization of wt.manager.StandardServerMonitor, launches and monitors server pool and asks

method servers for a kill command to be executed when ping calls fail.

• Mapping of the method servers to the port number and the corresponding process id in Unix

installation.

5) Windchill installation on HP UX and Sun Solaris

Project Profile:

• Installation includes the configuration check for java and oracle on Solaris/HP UX, SSL configuration.

• This internal project aims for all the projects that need Unix installation. This is also being used for

Project Profile: This project aims at integrating the UniGraphics NX CAD application to the DDVvault (eMatrix

application). This envolves new application requirements as well as changes to existing application

functionality specifically the DDVvault. The UG Integration application termed MxUG, is the gateway for

controlling the UGNX files as they are checked into the DDVvault PDM system, and again checked out from

the DDVvault for updating or viewing. This is also responsible for enforcing the rules that we have set forth

for the UG files. This is controlled mainly through rules dictating the UG Objects in the DDVvault and utilizing

information pulled directly from the UG files.

change requests, Impact analysis.

Project Profile: Project involves the migration of Metaphase 3.2 to TeamCenter 3.1 within the PIM systems of

Ford.

• Testing the functionality of prior released projects including the server side code, C and Perl clients,

Perl Wrappers, e vista clients.

Project Profile:

Prime objective of this project was to integrate web based application to monitor the access permission and

information of Digital Buck Users with the existing Metaphase user’s UAMS (User Access Management

System). Other goals were to:

• Automate the Metaphase user access request process currently managed manually by CDX Global

Supplier Services (GSS). Automation encompasses user registration, validation, authorization, and

granting in Metaphase for both internal and external supplier users.

• Automate the Digital Buck user access request process. Automation encompasses user registration,

validation, authorization, and granting in Digital Buck for both internal and future external supplier

users.

Project Contribution:

• Requirement gathering from Metaphase and Digital Buck users at onsite.

• Design and development/modification of existing Metaphase Model and method code.

• Design, development and modification of Perl/CGI scripts and new generalized Perl modules such

5) Ford Motors, AutoPull

Project Profile: The business objective of this project was to improve speeds, reduce resource requirement

for geometry data sharing between partners of Ford and improve the quality of data used in partner site. This

tool updates the data at the partner’s site automatically on a daily basis, keeping the data at the Ford site and

the partner’s site in synchronization.

AutoPull Perl Client:

The data file generated by the WERS system (IBM Main Frame) has to be made accessible to the auto pull

clients (e.g. MAZDA, VOLVO) executed at the TDM sites. Metaphase staging directory is being used as a

temporary storage place for the data file and auto pull clients will access these data files from the TDM sites.

The transfer of WERS generated release Part Information to Metaphase is being accomplished

through a Perl Metascript client running as cron job. The WERS file is being split in different files depending

upon the partner code and LVP and will be registered in the partner work location.

AutoPull 'C' Client:

This client is being used to auto push parts or an MP to a TDM (Team Data Manager) if the TDM does not

contain the specified pattern in the configuration file.
