Over 15 years experience in the manufacturing industry managing production, personnel, equipment maintenance, and process improvement. A dedicated team leader skilled at increasing productivity, product quality, and profitability.
Production Supervisor (Etch, Thin Films, Implant, Diffusion, & Epi)
Allegro Microsystems, Worcester MA. 2008-2012
• Managed the daily wafer manufacturing related operations activities of 10 operators, 3
process techs, 2 production delivery operators, 1 chemical delivery operator.
• Resolved all production related issues that arose by involving the appropriate support
personnel, such as: Engineering, EQM Maintenance, Facilities, IT by managing completion
time lines.
• Ensured daily production goals were met by prioritizing throughput and expediting appropriate
lots to optimize production runs.
• Prioritized equipment repairs and maintenance, and daily process quals based on current
production volumes and overall fab throughput, and individual tool utilization requirements.
• Monitored operator and process tech performance and attendance, schedule overtime as
production needs arise, maintain operator certification program, ensure close loop corrective
action for misprocessed and mishandled product lots.
Equipment Maintenance Supervisor Allegro Microsystems, Worcester MA.
2003-2008
• Managed the shift's equipment repair and routine preventative maintenance activities of 13
direct reports to ensure minimal tool downtime.
• Ensured that PM related assemblies were disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled by the
techs for upcoming scheduled maintenance.
• Monitored spare parts inventories, reordered, and sent out assemblies in need of out side
vendor repair.
• Directed chemical deliveries and gas bottle changes to ensure seamless wafer production
and maximum possible tool up-time.
• In charge of scheduling tool vendor training and OJT for technicians and monitoring
technician's tool related certifications.
• Implemented Tool Ownership Program, whereby equipment techs where made resident
experts of individual tools/tool sets for purposes of spec revision, training and certification,
PM frequency evaluation studies, tool up-time and utilization studies, KPIs, and up-time improvement projects.
• In charge of Parts Stockroom Reduction Program, where obsolete parts were identified and
removed, usage requirements established, to determine "on-hand" quantities to stock, cost
of ownership vs OEM spares down utilization options available. Program reconciled
inventory for redundant material between fab tool sets, updated inventory and purchasing
systems into a newly acquired Oracle database to improve part location ease, lower related
overhead cost of inventory by approximately 30%, while improving limited stock room space,
and reducing tool down time due to parts procurement wait time.
Project Manager Applied Materials, Austin Texas
2000-2001
• Provided on time delivery of approximately $36 million dollars worth of revenue (10-20
projects) per fiscal quarter.
• Identified and resolved all issues related to product design, configuration, material delivery,
assembly, and final test prior to shipment.
• Liaison between marketing, customer, and manufacturing by managing the resolution of
customer driven configuration changes and quality concerns.
• Managed on site customer source inspections of completed product prior to shipment and
successfully negotiated customer acceptance sign-off.
• Developed project management manual that documented the order process, outlined project
management responsibilities, and provided instruction. This manual was used to train newly
hired project managers resulting in learning curve reduction of 25%.
Project Engineer Applied Materials, Austin Texas
1999-2000
• Performed hands-on analysis of retrofit orders to identify excess and unstructured material,
removed unneeded material from retrofits totaling $55,000 average savings per order
(representing as much as a 33% reduction of material structured).
• Spearheaded analysis process development by devising automated tools to make analysis
quicker and less labor intensive resulting in greater than 50% reduction in required analysis
time.
• Achieved increased customer satisfaction by significantly reducing customer downtime
resulting from retrofit efforts by increasing order accuracy and identifying design conflicts
before delivery and installation.
• Developed "Field Audit & Order Definition" tool thus standardizing and simplifying the
documentation of the 'as built condition' of systems scheduled for retrofits during customer
site visits.
• Produced Excel-based "Duplication Identifier" program used to compare the material
structured to original system orders and retrofit material structured.
• Invented innovative "Automated Field Audit & Order Definition" tool to be used by Customer
Engineers in the fab via companies' intranet to document current system configuration
(intended to further reduce cost and analysis time by limiting required travel by analysis team).
Integration Production Supervisor Applied Materials, Austin Texas.
1995-1999
• Directed the daily production activities of 30 direct reports resulting in an average of 90% on
time delivery to production schedule.
• Initiated and led quality improvement team which reduced internal and external customer
found defects by an average of 45% per year, resulting in a company "Total Quality" award
for the department in 1998.
• Successfully transitioned two new product lines from SCLA Pilot facility to Austin based
Integration as member of manufacturing team responsible for assembly line development.
• Key participant to "Swift Process" implementation resulting in a 40% reduction in required
testing time.
• Developed and implemented Training Certification Program that resulted in greater cross
training between operations, reduced build errors, and documented functional expertise and
accomplishments.
Lead Integration Technologist Applied Materials, Austin Texas.
1994-1995
• Used schematics and assembly diagrams to assemble complex semiconductor wafer
processing equipment.
• Made work assignments, recorded and reported daily integration status at production control
meetings.
• Routinely trained individuals to perform Integration tasks, served as critical team member
that developed, implement, and maintained "P5000 Training & Certification Program" and
various work instructions.
• Worked to document build instructions used by Integration technologists.
• Streamlined assembly process as member of two-manned team by designing assembly line
based on 'Demand Flow Principles'; assembly line replaced bay build method providing a
66% reduction in total cycle time, increased output capability and quality.
