RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Water Quality Study of Centennial Lake Watershed, Lawrenceville Township. Senior Thesis Spring
2012
Studied groundwater baseflow and surface runoff contribution of metal elements (Fe, Al, Ca, Na, Mg, and
K) as well as Nitrate and Phosphate release into the Centennial Lake Watershed.
Field and Laboratory Work Include: Water level gauging by digital loggers, water sampling and analysis of metal
elements by ICP. Soil profile analysis and mineral component analyses by quantitative X-ray powder diffraction.
Computer modeling: Including set-up boundary conditions, calibration of hydrological parameters and hydraulic
head for the groundwater and the creek water interaction modeling.
Rider University- Dendrochronology Independent Project Fall 2011-
Spring 2012
Analyzed tree sections by measuring the tree rings using a Velmex measuring system through a
stereomicroscope. COFECHA and J2X were used to interpret the age of the trees and climate patterns.
Presentations include:
• New Jersey Academy of Science at Seton Hall University Spring
2012
• ISCAP at Rider University Spring
2012
Rider University-Forest Sampling, Mount Vernon Virginia May 2010
Sampled the age structure in the forest surrounding Mount Vernon through tree coring and ring analysis
