Sole proprietor of my paralegal practice, again restricted to representation of persons charged with provincial or criminal driving offenses. Practice was sold to a former employee in January 2011.
XCopper Legal Services Inc. Markham Ontario, (April 1988 to June 2008)
Co-owner of the largest paralegal firm in the industry, with 10 offices, 75 full-time employees, and over 150 independent contractors. It was also the birthplace of the careers of over 300 currently licensed paralegals. My portfolio was largely field management. I secured the business locations, interviewed paralegal candidates, and oversaw their education and training. I was also responsible for “Image Management”, including brand awareness, all public appearances on TV panel shows, over 100 news interviews, and was a bi-weekly guest on City TV’s “Auto Shop” and AM740’s “The Neighbourhood Mechanic”. XCopper was the recipient of the Consumers’ Choice Award for Business Excellence for 2005, 2006, and 2007, the only years it was awarded in the category of paralegal services.
Doors closed on 28 May 2008 for reasons attached to inaccurate legal advice on adapting business practices to the advent of LSUC government.
