EDUCATION

• Passed the High School Certificate (H.S.C.) at B.N. High School, Anandapur

in the District of Keonjhar, Odisha in First Division.

• Graduated in Philosophy with Honours from Anandapur College, Anandapur,

Utkal University, Odisha.

• Master’s in Philosophy from the Department of Philosophy, University of

Mumbai.

• Passed the Certificate Course in Jainology at the Department of Philosophy,

University of Mumbai.

• Successfully completed PhD in Yoga in the subject of Philosophy at the

University of Mumbai. Titled – “The Relevance of Yoga in Modern Life – An

Evaluative and Interpretative Study” guided by Prof. Dr. (Mrs) Shakuntala

SOCIAL SERVICE

• Presently taking care of cancer patients at Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel, Mumbai

since 5th December,2006, giving yoga techniques to the cancer patients for moral and

psychological support which results for a faster recovery during their emergency.

BLOOD DONATIONS

• Donated Blood & Blood Platelets more than 62 times personally till date for the poor

and needy patients during emergency & saved their life in their needy hour. Awarded

many times by the Tata Memorial Hospital for donating blood and platelets as a

voluntary donor.

PUBLISHED WORKS

• Written, edited and published the book, “Mission to Success” which was released by

Mr Kripashankar Singh, former Home Minister, Govt. of Maharashtra in the month of

April, 2000.

• Released the second edition of “Mission To Success” in the month of April, 2010 at

the hands of Deviprasad Mishra, Hon’ble Minister, Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of

Odisha at Jaydev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar during the occasion of Odisha Mahotsav-2010.

• Released the third edition of “Mission To Success” during the annual meet of Utkal

Journalists Association (UJA) in the month of January, 2011.

• Released the first Odia language magazine NILAMANI from Mumbai on 1st Jan-2013 at

Odisha Bhawan, Navi Mumbai, Vashi at the hands of the Child Cancer patients of Tata

Memorial Hospital.

MEDIA

• As a Press Reporter having 16 years reporting experience in various Odia News

Papers. Presently representing in the Odisha Premier Colour Daily News Paper “The

Samay” as its Mumbai Correspondent.

SEMINAR / CONFERENCES

• Attended the International Seminar on “Mind, Brain and Consciousness” organized by

V.P.M.’S Joshi-Bedekar College of Arts & Commerce, Thane, University of Mumbai on

January, 14-15, 2010 and presented a paper on “Mind Control Through Practice of

Pranayam” which was highly appreciated by the International delegates.

• Presented a paper on “The Relevance of Yoga In Modern Life” which was highly

appreciated by the National and International delegates for its technical precision at

the 1st Conference of the International Congress of Yoga and Spiritual Science

(ICYS),Dept. of Yoga Studies Karnataka University, Dharwad in the month of

June,2007.

NATIONAL CADET CORPS (N.C.C.)

• Enrolled as a cadet of Anandapur College, National Cadet Corps (N.C.C.) unit in the

academic year 1990 - 91 guided by the N.C.C. Officer Lt. N. Rout and rendered various

social services and adventurous activities for National Development.

• Attended Annual Training Camp held at Chandikhol, (Odisha) from 30th May 1992 to 10th

June 1992.

• Passed the Certificate ‘B’ examination held in 1993 under the authority of Ministry of

Defence, Govt. India.

• Attended Pre RDC Camp, Phase-1, at J. K. Road,Odisha.

• Attended Pre RDC Camp, Phase-2 at 120 BN, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

• Attended Pre RDC Camp, Phase-3 at Army Sqn. Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

• Passed the Certificate ‘C’ examination held in 1994 under the authority of Ministry of

Defence, Govt. of India.

• Being a dynamic N.C.C. cadet of Anandapur College represented Odisha to participate

in the National Level R.D.C. Camp and the Prime Minister’s Parade held at New Delhi

from 5th January to 29th January, 1993 and excelled in PARA-SAILING.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

• Successfully completed the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Govt. of India ‘Youth

Leadership Training Programmes’, Training of Trainers (TOT), organized by Nehru

Yuva Kendra Sangathan, North East Zone, from 27th to 31st October, 2006 at NIPCCD,

Khanapara, Guwahati.

• Participated in National Students and Youth Parliament-Special Session as a Team

Leader, Govt. of Odisha on HIV-AIDS held during 6th to 7th November 2004 at New Delhi

convened by Oscar Fernandes, Parliamentary Forum on HIV-AIDS and preceded over

by Dr Ambumani Ramados, Minister of Health, Govt. of India.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (N.S.S.)

• Enrolled as a volunteer for the season 1990 in Anandapur College National Service

Scheme (N.S.S.), Odisha and rendered valuable social services like Blood Donation

Drives, Adult Education Programmes, various medical camps, Tree Plantations and

Preservation of Environmental, Cultural, Recreational and Co – Curricular activities in

the rural areas.

• Attended many NSS Special Camps held in Odisha under the guidance of

Prof. H. K. Panda, NSS Programme Officer, Anandapur College from 1990 to 1992.

• During the higher studies at Mumbai University, organized the NSS Central Camp from

18 -28 April, 1998 among the volunteers from various colleges under the University of

Mumbai for the beautification of the University campus and has been engaged in

encouraging the students to develop the sense of responsibility towards their own

community.

SPORTS AND MEDALS

• Awarded many certificates and medals various times and excelled as a champion in

sports activities during academic career.

• Organised OPL-2010 on 14th February, 2010 at the Antop Hill Cement Ground, Mumbai

among the youngsters to improve their sportsman spirit and find the hidden talent in

them so that in future they can, through these kinds of tournament aim at more higher

goals in the game of cricket.

ACT OF VALOR

• Being a dynamic N.C.C. cadet, taken own life risk in saving the life of Mrs Boita Jena

wife of late. Gendudhar Jena who was in danger of losing her life during the fire

accident inside her burning house at village Khaliamenta, Odisha, on 6th April, 1992 at

2pm.

• Being a National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) leader during Post Graduate study in the

Mumbai University, saved the life of a gentleman, who was in danger of losing his life

at the Santacruz Railway line, Mumbai in an accident on 16th September,1997

• Received STATE YOUTH AWARD -2001 from the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Govt. of Odisha,

Mr Navin Patnaik in the field of Social work & National Development on 15th August,

2001 at Jayadev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.

• Awarded and felicited by Muralidhar Chandrakanta Bhandare, Hon’ble Governor,

Govt. of Odisha at Odisha Bhawan, Mumbai on 15th December, 2011 in the field of

Social work & National Development and the first to achieve Doctoral degree in Yoga

from the University of Mumbai.

• Received the SARASWATEE NATIONAL AWARD – 2010 in the field of Social Service and

National Development on the occasion of Odia New Year Celebration at Rabindra

Mandap, Bhubaneswar organized by the State Council for Artistic Research & Training,

Odisha.

• Received the NABAKRUSHNA CHOUDHURY SAMMAN -2001 for the outstanding contribution of

Social Development in Odisha.

• Awarded KALINGARATNA SAMMAN-2010 and felicited at Jaydev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar in

the field of Social work & National Development as the first Odia to achieve the

Doctoral degree in Yoga Philosohy from the Mumbai University on 21st December, 2010.

• Received ODISHA SHREE SANMAN – 2010 by the Hon’ble Ministers, Govt. of Odisha in the

field of Social Service and research work in Yogic culture at Jaydev Bhawan,

Bhubaneswar on the occasion of Odisha Mahostav -2010.

• Awarded SURYAKHETRA SAMMAN-2010 by Devi Mishra, Hon’ble Minister, Dept. of Higher

Education, Govt. of Odisha in the field of research work in Yogic Culture at Jaydev

Bhawan, Bhubaneswar on the occasion of Suryakhetra Mahostav -2010.

• Bagged the BEST N.C.C. CADET award from Mr Biju Patnaik, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Odisha

for representing the Republic Day Parade and ‘PARA-SAILING’ in the year 1993 at

New Delhi.

Sharma, Hon’ble President, Govt. of India at RASHTRAPATI BHAWAN during the Republic

PARA-SAILING during RDC Camp, New Delhi, 1993.

• Awarded as the BEST VOLUNTEER at the United Nations (UNDP) seminar on Youth and

Volunteerism, during the Internatonal Volunteers Day on 5th December, 2003 at the

hands of Mr R. P. Swain, Hon’ble Minister, Sports & Youth Affairs, Govt. of Odisha.

• Adjudged the BEST HOSTELITE AWARD by Hon’ble Warden Dr. P.C. Warke of New Boy’s

Hostel, Vidyanagari, University of Mumbai for the academic year 1997-98 during

M.A. in Philosophy.

• Bagged the PRIDE OF ANANDAPUR COLLEGE award from B. Satyanarayan Reddy, Hon’ble

Governor, Govt. of Odisha on the occasion of Anandapur College Silver Jubilee function

in the year 1993.
