Point Man, Reconnaissance Team
United States Marine Corps Camp LeJeune, Jacksonville, NC,
Responsible for navigating a team of six Marines safely to its destination. Deployed to Iraq with the 24th Marine
Expeditionary Unit, conducting combat operations in the North Hilla Province and trained Iraqi forces in basic
combat skills. Instrumental in developing a basic curriculum of weapons, tactics, and mixed martial arts.
Implemented a training program in which I was responsible for instruction in weapons and tactics.
Awarded Certificate of Commendation (Iraq) by Colonel R. J. Johnson, United States Marine Commanding
Officer, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Commendation awarded for maintaining suppressive fire during a
firefight which allowed other Marines to move into a position to destroy the enemy.
