EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES / LEADERSHIP
• Wesley Methodist Foundation Leader (2010-Present)
o A leadership position at Wesley is based on an interview. There are jobs to perform
both as a general leader and as a leader of a specific ministry area. I am one of 16
leaders in the Dance ministry. As a general leader, we are required to attend a
discipleship meeting every week as well as show up to a prayer meeting before the
service each week. As a dance leader, I am required to choreograph and lead a
dance of approximately 30 people once a week, as well as keeping track of money
and other records of each dancer. Also, as a group, the leaders usually learn many
dances quickly and perform them at different venues throughout the year.
• Sigma Alpha Omega (2009-2011)
o To become a member of SAO, one must go through a rush process. As a member,
each of us was required to attend a certain number of community service events
each semester. Also, I served as a member of the Recreation committee where I
helped coordinate intramural teams and other activities.
• Puerto Rico Mission trip
o In summer 2011, I attended a mission trip with my home church as an adult leader.
I was in charge of keeping track of a group of girls throughout the week. Also, I
was our crew’s Medic. My job was to be prepared to take care of any injuries or
emergencies that happened on the work site where we were building a house for an
elderly woman.
• Shadowing
o I spent time over the summer of 2011 shadowing various doctors at Athens
Neurological Associates and North Fulton Neurology where I learned a lot about
the inner workings of a doctor’s job and more about neurology in general. Also, I
spent a month during this summer in Peru shadowing different doctors each day
and participating in small jobs in the hospitals and clinics.
