Capable of Speaking, reading, and. writing all the regional dialects
of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Expert in the well known dialects of
Afghani, Peshawari, Waziri, and Swati. As a Fulbright Scholar,
designed and taught courses in Afghani and Waziri dialects at the
University of Massachusetts Amherst. Having grown up in Mohmand
Agency, a tribal area on Afghan border I know all the social, ethical
and traditional norms of the Afghan society and can analyze very well
what they believe, value and condemn.
. URDU: Native fluency with highest understanding of its cultural
knowledge and origin.

. Working at the Foreign Service Institute under the Department Of State
has meant taking extensive responsibilities to design, develop, teach,
train, monitor and evaluate language skills of foreign service
diplomats, military officers and other personnel, staff of Department
of State, Department of Justice, USAID and other agencies.
. Have exercised extensive professional linguistic skills towards
coordination, education, training, designing & developing of
curriculum, research, counseling, monitoring and evaluation of
students with different political, religious, and cultural
differences.
. I have participated in professional training workshops in many
important areas including Working as a Foreign Service team member,
MBTI personality preferences, Counseling, New Instructor's
orientation, Distance Education approaches, and Designing, Planning &
Developing curriculum, including Learning -center curricula., Smart
Board and Material Development workshops.
. Implement Pashto Language and Pashtun Culture from beginners to
advance level students. Developing curriculum material which includes
supplement books for the basic textbook to meet the needs of the
students and help them pursue their objectives. Developing useful
sentences that the students might need for better performances.

Teacher/Fulbright Scholar (Foreign Language Teaching Assistant)
. Developed and taught regular and mentored

bearing courses in the Pashto/Urdu language for graduates and
undergraduates.
. Developed and taught a course called 'Afghan-Pakistan Pashtuns'
Language and Culture'.
. Prepared curriculum, syllabus, and teaching materials for classes and
tutorials of Urdu and Pashto languages.
. Did placement assessment and after course oral evaluation and written
assessment of both Urdu and Pashto students for which I designed my
own tests.
. Students included undergraduates and graduates, some were preparing to
go to Afghanistan and Pakistan for work with NGOs, the US military or
university research.
. Obtained videos for the FCCSWL from Afghanistan and Tribal areas of
Pakistan. Translated them to English, for some, also wrote Pashto
scripts for classroom use at varying levels.
. In addition to scheduled classes, maintained individual once a week
tutorial sessions for checking homework and correcting mistakes.
LANGUAGE EVALUATION SKILLS
. I have taken extensive training of Language Tester and Examiner and
going through my final training to become a Certified Language
Examiner.
. Presently, working as a tester of Pashto (Afghan/Peshawari) and Urdu
languages at the Foreign Services Institute, Department of State.
. I have also studied American Language Pedagogies and Practicum, and
ATCFL testing procedure at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
. Prepared Level 2 and 3 listening (L2,L3) and reading (R2, R3) tests
for Comprehensive Language Center in Arlington.
TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETATION
. Worked for Imani Lee Inc. as a translator and transcriber of Pashto
language for last one year. Received both weekly projects and daily
assignments for Pashto into English and vice versa. These projects
also include transcription of Pashto audio files.
. Worked for INLINGUA International Translations as a translator and an
interpreter. The interpretation was mostly medical and legal.
. Also worked as an interpreter for Benoit Translation Services Boston.
. Work as certified interpreter and translator for Massachusetts Trial
Court on freelance basis.
. I do simultaneous interpretation, consecutive interpretation,
whispering, and question answer. I also translate videos, audios, do
voice over, editing, proofreading, and localization.
