I have more than 20 years of diverse maintenance management experience in manufacturing. I worked for Phelps Dodge Copper Refinery for twelve years and successfully managed three departments managing salaried supervisors and working with the labor union. I worked as an Analytical Chemist for El Paso Natural Gas Company for 2 years before I was promoted to Project Engineering. I was later promoted to Cost Center Manager for the Southern Division where I was responsible for the operation and maintenance of 4 reciprocating compressor stations and 2 turbine compressor stations. I organized a committee of Mechanical Engineers, Plant Managers, Assistant Plant Managers and Lead Superintendents to suggest the criteria to determine, prioritize and establish the most important maintenance indicators to schedule maintenance/tune-ups and complete mechanical overhauls for the 85 reciprocating compressors along the pipeline. Once implemented, the criteria and schedule was well received by all the other Cost Centers and has since been on a corporate level in the Southern, Permian, and Farmington Divisions.
I was hired as Chief Engineer and Safety Director for Eldorado Cartridge Corporation (ECC) by PMC Ammunition and was assigned the responsibility to establish an ammunition manufacturing process in Las Vegas, NV. Once accomplished, I was responsible for the plant engineering and maintenance of the 250,000 SF manufacturing plant. I established the operation of multiple small caliber manufacturing production lines of equipment, furnace operations, washing operations as well as a complete machine shop. By installing an overhead buss system, I afforded the Manufacturing Department the relocation ease for all the production equipment as well as isolation of specific equipment. With my staff’s input, I established a preventative maintenance program as well as an ongoing maintenance schedule for production equipment so as not to impact production schedules.
I later co-founded MAST Technology Inc. - A used ammunition manufacturing equipment vendor and custom cartridge case manufacturer. At MAST, I similarly established a custom cartridge case production line and machine shop utilizing all the knowledge from establishing the ECC systems. I was responsible for the Maintenance Management, operational budgets, supervision of the 60,000 SF machine shop as well as the cartridge case manufacturing operation.
I have years of experience with establishing departmental and operational annual and strategic budgets. Some of my employers and clients include: PMC Ammunition Corporation, Eldorado Cartridge Corporation, Harrah’s Gaming, Boyd Gaming, Brett Wesley Art Gallery, Fatburger, Rent-A-Center and Nevada West Development
I have been the qualified individual for the General (B) and Finish (C4) construction licenses for each of three companies as well as the OSHA director. I earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso and have ASSE certifications in Safety Engineering from Texas A&M University.
I am a highly skilled and capable technical writer and can communicate clearly with my employees and management. I have years of experience negotiating maintenance contracts and establishing maintenance programs. I am currently providing project management and safety compliance services for LB Art and Design, LLC and the Praetorian Group & Associates.
