2009 - 2012 Self-employed in Sarasota, FL & Maya Beach, Belize, Central America

Residential design and construction. Also started an architectural welding and

fabrication shop while in Belize, as well as the countries first powder coating service.

2007 - 2008 Project Manager at Lawson Group Architects, Inc., Sarasota, FL

Lawson Group Architects specializes in Church, Education and Senior Housing design.

Projects included an assisted living complex, the 'Boys & Girls Club of Sarasota' and a

YMCA branch. Ran Feasibility Studies and Master Planning projects and worked on

churches, dormitories and classroom buildings.

2005 - 2007 Project Manager at Sweeney Architecture, Reno, NV

Sweeney Architectures emphasis was in educational design. The majority of projects

involved the maintenance and remodeling of regional schools. Noteworthy was the

conversion of a six-story, 1960's motel into a dormitory for the University of Nevada.

Other projects included a large strip shopping center and an "off-the-grid" residence

utilizing concrete reinforced foam. Researched and developed a business plan for

affordable, sustainable housing using modular construction.

2001 - 2005 Project Architect at Gies Architects, Inc., Eagle, CO & Telluride, CO

Gies Architects designs mainly resort/ski homes. Designing these mountain homes was

fun and challenging. The structures where complex, building sites extreme and the

approval process exhaustive. We did all of our own site design including grading,

driveways and landscaping. Other projects included a mixed retail and luxury

condominium building in a National Historic Landmark District and a 50,000 sq. ft. retail,

restaurant and office complex.

Ran a one-man, satellite office in Telluride from 2003 - 2005.

Previous Experience

1984 - 2012 Remodeler/Rehabber/Artisan/Craftsman

1998 - 2000 Gignilliat Realty and Management, Savannah, GA

Handled the maintenance and rehabilitation of six, 19th and early 20th century

single and multi-family properties in Savannah's Historic District while attending

architecture school. Focus was on restoration of the owner's 1828 Federal home.

1996 - 1998 Ebb Tide Marine, Inc., Stuart, FL

Ebb Tide was a hobby that turned into a business. Projects included the overhaul

of four, 42'-45' vessels, including two wooden motor yachts.

1993 - 1995 Florida Shellrock, Corp., Jensen Beach, FL

General Manager. Florida Shellrock was a man-made stone product that emulated

fossilized shellstone. It was used for flooring, countertops, fireplace surrounds, etc.

1984 - 1993 QMark, Inc., St. Louis, MO

QMark began as a division of the family business, we sold hearing testing equipment.

At QMark I designed and built custom vehicle conversions, specializing in mobile hearing

testing. Projects outside this specialty included the St. Louis ZooMobile and a mobile

sports medicine clinic used on the SCCA Trans-AM and ARCA racing circuits.
