# Working in Incoming Quality & Control Panels Testing Dept.

To perform delivery audits on finished product (Transformers) before

dispatch to ensure that product meets or exceeds customer's requirements.

This has helped to bring down customer complaints to a very low level.

To check OLTC and cooler control panels to ensure 100% compliance to

customer's specifications and drawings.

To perform checks on core and coil assembly during tanking stage and ensure

that all the electrical clearances are as per design and also to improve

product quality by implementing good practices.

To handle customer complaints and initiate corrective and preventive

actions.

Supervision of erection and commissioning of power Transformers of IEC,

ANSI and IS specifications.

Erection and Commissioning of Transformer and after sales service:

Handled power transformers upto 315MVA 400kV. Major activities include:

Planning and scheduling of erection and commissioning activities.

Attending oil leakages from various gaskets and welding joints.

To attend complaints at site related to transit damage.

To identify problem related to malfunctioning of components of Transformer

like MOG, buchholz relay, WTI, OTI, PRD etc. and rectify the same.

To supervise erection and commissioning of Transformer. The major

activities include, mounting of radiators and accessories, mounting of

various components and bushings etc., vacuum pulling and oil filing and

filtration. To perform various pre commissioning tests on Transformer and

to charge the Transformer after satisfactory test results.

As a production supervisor in the connection and tanking area.

Arrangement of necessary drawings, specifications, checklists, material

etc.

Monitoring of product & process parameters as per drawings, specifications,

DOP, SOP etc.

Identification of non conformity & implementation of CAPA.

Preparation of packing list.

Training of new personnel.

Communication and co-ordination with Production Head.

Maintain all relevant records.

Reconditioning and overhauling of Transformers :

The major activities include:

Improvement in IR value at site by

Dismantling of Transformer and Draining of oil.

Lifting, Cleaning and Tightening of Core-coil assembly.

Reinforcement of insulation and Replacement of gaskets.

Removing moisture from the assembly using Induction heating.

Filtration of oil to remove sludge, carbon particles and water contents.

Complete testing of Transformer and its protection circuits.

Energizing the Transformer.

Replacement of the damaged/faulty bushings of transformer and restoration

of transformer to working conditions.

Replacement of transformer windings at site and commissioning of repaired

transformers upto 160MVA.

To identify problems of malfunctioning of various components like MOG,

OLTC, PRD, panels etc. and to rectify the same.

To rectify problems in cooler and OLTC control panels and motor drive unit

of OLTC at site.

Other activities performed:

Loading, unloading, placing on plinth, shifting, dragging over distances,

lifting manually and with crane, various equipments weighing over 200

TONES.

Initiated study of failure of 'o' rings for the various joints in the

transformer and subsequent improvement of the same.

Commissioned various other sub station equipments like circuit breakers,

CT's, PT's, Isolator, LA's.
