Product Development Manager (Feb. 2011 – October 2012)
Primarily responsible for product & sales management for a launch of new water-soluble
polymers called “G-Polymer” (from Soarus’s parent company Nippon Synthetic, Osaka, Japan).
Product is a new extension of existing EVOH (Ethylene-Vinyl Alcohol) as an innovative water
soluble acetylenic-diol vinyl alcohol copolymer used for polymerization, packaging films,
lubrication and other unique applications.
Developed new business plans including marketing and sales budgets with 5 year forecasts. Met
initial sales budget for first full year of $0.50 million. Conducted and wrote market intelligence
reports on launching this polymer line into aqueous specialty chemical markets such as
petroleum additives, cosmetics, aqueous polymerization, agriculture, detergents and lubricant
additives.
Executed direct sales calls, new marketing presentations to Fortune 500 companies, and wrote
all USA product line sales and marketing brochures. Interacted with Soarus Director of Sales and
parent company technical and marketing management to implement product line launch
strategies in North America.
NEOSPHERE ENERGY – HIGHLAND, IN 2008 – 2010
Bio-Technology Chemical Consultant (November 2008 – December 2010)
Researched and documented concepts for a start-up business in BioFuels, BioMass and
alternative energy platforms. Establishment basis of IP and business marketing direction for the
company’s Energy Division through its unique financing to create a strong value proposition of
private-municipal partnerships. Provided technical writing support for entire Bio-based green
business plan.
As the primary chemical consultant, developed the BioFuels business product lines, Performa,
budgets, and financing. Led the task force to locate the primary manufacturing site to commence
operations. Established start-up criteria and set benchmarks for the needs of BioFuel and
Specialty Chemical processes product line launch.
Reported directly to the CEO and President for various tasks related to green chemistry
development.

SURFTEC CORP, GLENDALE HEIGHTS, IL 1996 – 2008
President, SurfTec Corp (January 1996 – August 2008)
Successfully launched, grew and managed a small business in oleochemical surfactant specialty
chemicals to a level of nearly $5 Million in sales. Managed and directed all phases of the
business from sales, marketing, product research & development, finance and procurement.
Developed entire specialty chemical product line portfolio with focus on oleochemical synthesis
routes, product development, product scale-up, implementation for process QA/QC, and
customer driven formulation support. Worked with custom specialty chemical manufacturer,
Cedar Concepts Corp., and other toll manufacturing businesses for procurement of raw materials
and expansion of product lines within existing plant design and capacity.
Growth of sales from start-up in spring 1996 to a high of $4.8 Million in sales in 2006.
Implemented numerous marketing and business strategies for successful niche oleochemical
product growth into various compounding applications. Customers ranged from Fortune 500 to
small business markets. Market direction included Household, Industrial & Institutional
detergents; Green solvents, Construction materials; Cosmetics; Pharmaceuticals; BioFuels
(Biodiesel); Agricultural spray adjuvants; and lubricant additive sales.
Technical lab experience includes disciplines of distillation, separation techniques and reaction
chemistry of oleochemicals. Broad working knowledge of esterification, amidization,
quaternization and phosphation of petroleum, lipid oils, fatty alcohol and fatty acids feedstocks.

Responsible for business and technical support of oleochemical custom manufacturing
operations. Started applications lab for niche customer supported formulation work. Member of
task force team for ISO9000 certification.
Led marketing initiates for web based sales and product support. Developed renewable bio-
based green solvent line for detergents, agriculture and BioFuels within targeted financial budget.
Developed market strategy for creating values added line of niche custom chemicals. Achieved
sales growth from $10-15 million within a three year period.

Technical Director, Specialty Chemicals (1994–1996)
Successfully launched private label specialty chemical product line program within a 12 month
period. Led the specialty chemical task team and managed the product launch through strategic
alliance with two major vendors. As task force lead, defined marketing requirements, managed
product localization, trained sales representatives, and determined most advantageous products
based on existing sales and market direction.
Oversaw and implemented expansion of laboratory QC/QA program for specialty chemical private
label products. Doubled specialty chemicals sales platform within two year period.

network. Defined marketing requirements, managed product localization, and led PR/Marketing

West territory covering 14 states and supporting over 40 direct sales representatives. Supported
corporate technical product marketing initiatives within existing territory. Managed, maintained
and realigned Mid-West market (Chicago area) to a direct sales territory when company divested
local distribution branch.
