Analytical chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular biology, Biomedical Engineering. DOE, FDA regulations and GMP.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Merck, Elkton, VA
Process Engineer I Oct 2012 – Present
Work on 15-2,000 L scale batch fermentors- medium prep, sterilization, inoculation, seed propagation, and vaccine harvest.
Proficiently read P&ID and use DeltaV to control fermentation process.
Carry out Design of Experiment (DOE) studies to compare pilot plant fermentation to manufacturing scale.
Aseptic skills in bio safety level 2 lab and GMP environment.
RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Tissue Engineering Lab, UMBC, Baltimore, MD
Research Assistant June, 2010-Aug, 2012
Designed affinity cross linkers for hepatocyte growth factor present (HGF) in a way recapitulating in vivo pattern more than
soluble form or covalently immobilized form.
Characterized physical properties (swelling) and mechanical properties (Rheology) of hydrogels after crosslinker incorporation
and proposed possible mechanisms.
Quantified the release of HGF from the affinity hydrogel using ELISA.
Tested cytotoxicity by culturing PC12 cells and NSC 34 cells with or without presence of gels.
