Attendees will walk through the steps that must be taken to calendar deadlines correctly, and to avoid mistakes. Calendaring exercises will allow attendees to immediately practice the steps and see where the dangers lurk. Focus will be on calendaring deadlines for pleadings, discovery and the potential pitfalls behind C.C.P.12c with regard to motion practice.
Presented by: Julie A. Goren, Esq. Julie is the author and publisher of two California civil litigation books: Litigation By The Numbers® and California Civil Litigation and Discovery, widely used in law firms and as required texts in civil litigation courses throughout California. Julie wrote and published the first edition of Litigation By The Numbers® in 1982, a few years after she had become a self-taught legal secretary. Julie later attended Loyola Law School, graduating with honors in 1987. She practiced law in Los Angeles with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and with Buchalter, Nemer, Fields & Younger. In 2003, she decided to leave the practice of law to devote full time to writing, publishing, teaching, and speaking.
