Work in family business as the clothing buyer for a 30,000 square foot children’s store. Responsibility for
maintaining inventory, as well as ordering, marketing and overseeing budget for the clothing area. Duties
to include but not limited to are: manager of all employee relations, policy’s, merchandise displays.
Change jobs in 2004 due to limited work in the consulting field as well as personal family issues.

Southeastern Program Manager
Work with hospitals, government and city officials on developing a fitness, wellness and or recreation centers. Complied data to
determine business plan as well as membership, program, class rates as well as expenses related to each facility. As Program Manager
duties also are to assist in the design, development of programs and facility layout. Establishes policy and procedures for facility as well
as job description in compliance with the agency of the facility. Coordinate efforts with management team regarding evaluations of
programs quarterly as well as development of action plans.
Work with agency leaders (CEO’s City, Managers and Board of Directors) in presenting information regarding the programs and
financial data. Able to discuss all financial components of the business plan and to discuss how to be successful when areas are below
budget. Worked with insurance companies to develop on site programs to assist in reducing healthcare cost. Such programs as a risk
modification program to include exercise dietary intervention stress management and education. Developed survey analysis to follow
trends and outcomes so customer can see if programs are benefiting them by reducing health care costs.
Develop marketing plans for the agency regarding an establish set plan for pre-opening as well as program design, direct mail piece, logo
to name a few. Other duties are coordinating all facility orientations for new employees to include an organized retreat to discuss annual
projections. Work with staff on program manuals, rules, and regulations as well a cost analysis process.
1999- 2003 Cape Fear Valley Health System, Fayetteville North Carolina
Executive Director, Health Plex of Cape Fear Valley Health System
Designed, developed, programmed a 65,000 square foot building from start to finish. Created an annual three
million dollar budget as well as reported to CEO/President/Board of Directors on the success of the facility as
well as developing a management action plan to improved areas that did not met budget guidelines.
Established quarterly program evaluations to assess the effectiveness of the programs and how to improve or
develop more programming in needed. Bi annual survey sent to 4000 members to determine our customer
services as well as programs. Analyzed data and presented to CEO of hospital, as well as came up with
corrective plan of action to improve the weaknesses which came out in the survey. Presented corrective
action plan not only to staff but also to the membership.
Managed 80 employees to include hiring, firing, annual evaluations as well as developed measurable annual
competencies for the management team to achieve. Wrote policy and procedure manual for all areas of the
facility to include, aquatics, child care, fitness, membership, food service, pro shop, business office to name a
few. Also wrote emergency preparedness manual and job descriptions and program manual to include rules
and regulations of facility. Also developed an onsite training program for all employees to gear them in
effective customer service, telephone etiquette and team building and facility operations to include
emergency, facility upkeep and aquatic maintenance.
Developed marketing plan time line for each fiscal year to assist in promoting memberships and non-
member/member programs. Continue managing clinical services to include cardiac rehab, pulmonary rehab,
vascular health, diabetic center, and well on your way.
Effective team leader with management team; able to make decisions and provide advice on programs and
managerial guidelines to management team of the facility. Assist in the implementation plan of conducting
health appraisals to include but not limited to, anthropometric testing, oxygen consumption, percentage body
fat, cholesterol, blood pressure and over all risk assessment. Used personal wellness profile screening tool to
determine health assessment and risk appraisal on members, corporate, as well as the community.
1988 – 1999 Cape Fear Valley Health System, Fayetteville, North Carolina
Administrative Director of Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab, Vascular Health and Wellness
Manage a four-phase state licensed Cardiac Rehab program. Duties include development of operating budget, capital budget, staffing
budget, financial statistics, policies and procedures, orientation manual, management action plan, performance improvement, safety and
infection control, emergency preparedness, billing, reimbursement, patient interaction, physician interaction, and referrals. Oversee
exercise prescriptions in working relationships with medical directors. Assist in the interpretations of exercise stress tests; exercise
prescriptions and medical documentation. Involved in multidiscipline patient staffing with medical director for all clinical departments.
Developed and implemented Pulmonary Rehab in 1992, Vascular Health in 1997, Community Wellness in 1996, Employee Wellness at
Cape Fear Valley Health System in 1997, and Worksite Wellness in 1998. Assisted in developing programs for Passport to Health, Senior
Aging Home and Diabetic Coalition. Responsible for a staff of 25 to include nurses, exercise physiologists, respiratory therapist,
secretarial support, health educators, dietitian, psychologists and physical therapists.

Responsibilities included budgeting, administrative procedures, records, referrals, exercise components, and personnel. Assisted in
transformation from YMCA program to a hospital-based program. A committee member of the task force to implement a Phase II
Cardiac Rehabilitation Program and planning of the Spring Cardiac Rehabilitation Symposium. Developed the inpatient educational
booklets for coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure patients which included information regarding managing the disease process
