It is the main paper in the area that has been in business for 75
years. While there I conducted needs analysis of businesses/designed
effective results driven campaigns.
Managed large account list of both corporate accounts and local
businesses.
Designed proposals utilizing newspaper advertising, direct mail,
internet, special sections,
focused publications and inserts.
My focus: strong customer maintenance and attention to results and
needs.
*Won Sales Person of 2008 : grew business over prior year by over
46%.
*Won Sales Person of The Month for 5 months in 2008. Some were 202%
over goal.
*Brought in over half million in sales for the year.
NEXT MEDIA: Saginaw, MI - Account Executive
2006-2007
Worked Radio advertising sales for large company in Saginaw, Michigan
with several stations with different musical formats. Conducted needs
analysis and designed appropriate proposal utilizing music format to
match product or service the business was promoting. Market knowledge
and music listener personalities were vital in designing successful
plans for successful campaigns using long or short term proposals. At
times, remote broadcasts were used for immediate draw for urgent
approach. Other times TOMA, or Top of Mind Awareness branding plans
were used.
Sold many short term sales events with short notice.
Landed key accounts by keeping them from the competitors.
MONEY PAGES MAGAZINE: Tri-Cities, MI -Sales Manager 2005-2006
Money Pages was a new company that offered direct mail coupons for
any business using a high gloss attractive small magazine piece. Located
in the Tri-Cities of Michigan. I was hired to assist in sales and
grow the territory for one zone to more. We were able to add another zone
to Saginaw and one zone to Bay City.
In short time increased business by 30% in one quarter.
I added over 20 new businesses to the magazine within my first 90
days.
EBSCO: Territory Manager
2005
Nationwide company that used magazine subscriptions and plastic
covers to advertise coordinating businesses. My position was to locate
the business that would allow the free magazines in their lobby/waiting
room, in exchange for having a business advertising on the cover. (Example
a Chiropractor on the cover of a magazine at a gym by the treadmills)
managed/ serviced/ and grew business for 1/3 of the State of Michigan.
Documented $17,000 in new business in first seven weeks on the job.
Qualified for second highest level of national competition.
Ranked in highest level of sales within first weeks with company.
MACDONALD BROADCASTING: Account Executive 2002-2005
Sales Representative with local radio company selling advertising
for largest country format in the area. Most business were million
dollar companies that could afford the station, therefore my position
consisted of accurately targeting appropriate companies, market
knowledge matching the format to business, and designing
appropriate campaign to meet needs. Using many radio specific websites
were
used as tools to share market data with clients in support of
the proposed plan. Statistics, comparisons and projections and
measurements of success were always included in the proposals.
Grew key accounts from 20% to 300 % over prior year.
In first year, grew business by 172% over prior year.
Was able to bring business back to the company by building
relationships and persistence who had not been active for years.
EDUCATION:
My most current experience and education is in outside sales. I have
had numerous professional sales courses ( client driven sales, radio,
newspaper, print, objections, Top of Mind Awareness, closing sales
I continue to educate myself through books and online self
improvement sources.
*BA Degree is in Therapeutic Recreation, but also have major in
Psychology, and minor in Health Education . I have also taken continued
education over the years in getting certified in substance abuse
counseling, and medical billing/coding. I have also been certified in
the past as a personal trainer (weights), CPR and First Aid.
