Taiwan and South Korea. Managed freight forwarders, customs broker and
third party warehouses. Reduced freight costs by 35% in line with
downward market trend. Eliminated unnecessary freight insurance on low-
cost products. Directed transition from single-location to multi-
location inventory with new 3PL warehouse in New Jersey. Conducted
year-end physical inventory.
. Demand Forecasting: introduced demand forecast model to help
transition enterprise from passive sales model to demand-driven
operation.

. Start-up Operations: established and managed Purchasing/Planning
Department to support sales growth from start-up sales level of $25
million to nearly $80 million.
. New Product Development: directed cross-functional New Product
Development team from Marketing Start to First Ship for 10 product
lines produced in Asia and Mexico. Production processes included
fabric cut-and-sew, plastics cut-and-weld, plastics injection-molding
and blow-molding, and food production.
. Purchasing/Production Planning: developed corporate annual inventory
plan, evaluated production capacity and purchased $30 million annually
from 25 suppliers in China, Malaysia, Taiwan and USA, including food
components for export to GMP facility in China and re-export
worldwide. Conducted MRP-based production planning with Wham-O
facility in Mexico.
. Project Management: established Wham-O Hong Kong office in 2004. Held
primary responsibility for locating premises, designing office layout,
registering business, establishing international bank accounts. Set
up office, developed budget, and hired/managed General Manager and 9
staff members within 6 months to support purchases of $25 million at
cost. Returned significant cost savings over previous commission-
based agency arrangement.
. Corporate Acquisitions: integrated operations of 5 acquisitions over 6
years, including inventory, supplier relationships and business
processes into Wham-O operations. Evaluation of materials at acquired
company suppliers in 2003 led to $200K in supplier credits for Wham-O.
. ERP Implementation: implemented QAD MFG/PRO ERP system (including
MRP) in record time and developed SOP's in start-up phase after
acquisition from Mattel Corporation.
