Relevent Experience/ Proficiencies
Plastics: I have extensive experience with engineered plastic components
for automotive, transportation, and aerospace applications. This experience
includes design of tooling (compression, transfer and injection molds),
project management, troubleshooting quality problems including 8D
corrective action processes, participating in lean production teams, and
design of new products for custom applications.
Assemblies: I have been involved with assemblies such as plastic fittings
for air brake applications (design of assembly fixtures and leak testing
equipment) and Attribute-Based Released heavy truck battery box assemblies
(custom built per OEM requirements and lineset to multiple customer
facilities). The battery box assemblies included such options as different
sized battery trays and mounting configurations, air tanks with multiple
fitting and tubing configurations, step height variations, jump start
studs, power modules, battery disconnect switches, etc.

Fabrications: I'm experienced with steel and aluminum air tanks (pressure
vessels) for air brake applications, utilizing welding processes such as
MIG, TIG, submerged arc, and resistance/projection welding. I've designed
custom tooling and fixtures for manufacture of air tanks, as well as leak
test tanks and check fixtures. I've also worked extensively with laser cut
and brake press fabrications.
Metal Stamping: I have designed dies for fabrication of air tank endcaps,
and miscellaneous brackets, including progressive dies for automotive
components. I have worked with domestic and overseas tooling manufacturers.
Composites: Experience with filament winding fiberglass - resin composites
including design of pressure vessels, development of production processes
including calculation of helical winding angle and finished product testing
/ evaluation.
Software Experience
I am proficient in 3D CAD, including Solid Edge (9 years), Solid
Works (limited), and AutoCAD (17 years). I am also experienced
with Microsoft Project, Powerpoint, and MiniTab statistical
analysis software.
