2003-2004: Valley Forge Fabrics Inc. Pompano Beach, Fl.
Logistics Manager
Responsible for NAFTA Affairs with reference to export documents
and Rules of Origin. This included acting as Liaison between
Canadian Customs Service and the company. Responsible for
Correct Product Classification for Cost control, as well as
compliance issues. Freight and Costs Analysis connected with
International Orders which utilized my knowledge of Word and
Excel. Also responsible for interfacing with Production Dept in
terms of planning and expediting orders with various mills,
carriers and Customs Brokers. Other Duties included negotiating
freight rates with international and domestic carriers.
2001-2002: International Warehousing & Logistics, Inc. Medley, Fl.
Inventory Control Manager
Responsible for scheduling the movement of cargo in and out of
the warehouse, including the US Customs Bonded Warehouse as well
as the Container Freight Station. Responsible for giving
consultations related to Importing to the Freight Forwarders who
rented office space in our building.
1998-2000: Geologistics Americas Inc. Miami, Fl
Import Manager
Responsible for reorganization of Import Dept for air and ocean
imports. Duties included initiating compliance standards in
terms of US Customs Service, Other Government Agencies, as well
as Corporate standards.
ACHIEVEMENTS: Initiated and established accounting systems for a firm of
16 people having sales in excess of $15 Million annually. After
that studied for and obtained U.S. Customs Broker License #7959.
Established a separate affiliate corporation which is a fully
functional Customs Brokerage firm handling logistics on behalf
of Martin Brower Company (McDonalds), Walt Disney, Lederle
Laboratories, and other major importers. Converted a Fortune 500
company from a manual import program to automation in
conjunction with U.S. Customs ABI handling over 200 entries per
month. Stabilized a national Customs Brokerage branch to show
net revenue growth of 26%, improved operating ratio by 40%, and
increased profitably 200% during the first year as manager for
the firm. Discovered classification issue after an audit that
resulted in $100,000 in annual savings for the firm.
