I brought fiscal discipline through implementing a rigorous budgeting process and holding quarterly
project reviews. Managed the change from a Marc accounting system to Timberline. Created and
monitored an overhead budget for the company. Created a culture of teamwork that was recognized
throughout the company. Responsible for the daily operations of the company and managing a staff up
to fourteen for residential and commercial land development in Virginia. Responsibilities included:
managed the planning staff in land planning, rezoning applications and engineering of numerous
projects including a 900 acre mixed use project; managed the construction staff for up to fifteen
different projects at a time; negotiated all construction contracts; managed the design and construction
of multiple clubhouses and sewer pump stations; managed the design and construction of an eighteen
hole golf course including its maintenance building, cart barn and clubhouse; estimated the
development cost of property and worked with the owners in setting sales prices; managed the profit
and loss for the company both on an individual project basis as well as for the company as a whole;

TITLE: Vice President of Construction (2/05 to 2/07)
Completed Tricord’s first golf course on time and within budget. Managed the design and construction
of an extremely functional pro shop/cart barn and a first class maintenance facility. Initiated
accounting policies and reports to better manage the profit and loss of the projects. Delivered over 500
lots that were 99% defect free. Managed a staff of seven for residential and commercial development.
Managed the planning staff from preliminary design through permit acquisition; managed the
construction staff on numerous projects to ensure they were developed on time and within budget;
managed bond release; provided value engineering and cost estimating; designed and managed the
construction of multiple clubhouses.

Managed all land development activities from preliminary plan through bond release. Duties included:
assisting the Land Acquisition Manager with Phase I environmental studies; meeting with planning,
zoning and transportation officials for code review; overseeing engineering consultants during the
development process; negotiated all contracts with engineers and contractors for site development
activities; managed two field superintendents during the construction phase to ensure the projects are

Responsible for overseeing an Active Adult community in Haymarket, VA including two single family
communities, and acting as the Project Manager for a third. Duties included planning and design of a
condominium project as well as managing contracting, land development, site and house construction,
sales, marketing and profit and loss. Also performed land studies for the Vice President when required.
TITLE: Senior Project Manager Golf and Club Division (1/00 to 1/02)
Managed the construction of golf facilities through a cost plus fee contract versus a lump sum contract
saving approximately $180,000 to $300,000 on the cost of Toll’s average clubhouse. Responsible for
programming, budgeting, design, contracting, and construction of four golf and club facilities
throughout the country. Provided initial estimate, selection of architectural and interior design firms,
provided cost saving suggestions, interview local general contractors and negotiate a cost plus fee
contract, review all subcontractor proposals and select the appropriate company, monitor the schedule
of the project, manage all change orders, pending change orders and request for proposals, and provide
financial reports to the owner indicating the status of construction and cost. Facilities included
community centers, cart barns, maintenance buildings, and clubhouses ranging up to 40,000 sq. ft. in
size located in Raleigh, NC; Chicago, IL; Moorpark, CA and Palm Desert, CA.
TITLE: Senior Project Manager (2/99 to 1/00)
Responsible for several projects while also managing the programming, budgeting, design, contracting,
and construction of a 34,000 sq. ft. golf clubhouse including the renovation of a 12,000 sq. ft. manor
house built in 1801 located in Loudoun County, VA. Specific duties included: Management of two
project managers for two separate projects, provided assistance when necessary to them and their staff
regarding sales, marketing, pricing, financials, and product selection.
