Independent Consultant, Ongoing

Providing a variety of human resource services to small organizations (5-

250 employees), including design and development of HR functions and

protocols, compensation plan design, employee benefit audits, designs and

implementation, policy and handbook development, legal compliance reviews

and employee relations. Client groups are both start-ups and developing

companies that provide an array of services including educational,

financial, legal, medical and manufacturing.

data to retailers and CPG companies. Responsibilities included while

supporting all business functions, including executive, finance, human

resources, sales and marketing.

Ovation Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Deerfield, IL, March 2005 - June 2006:

Senior Director, Human Resources, Reported to Vice President and Chief

Legal Counsel, managed staff of two.

Organization has multiple facilities and off-site staff, consisting of the

home office in Deerfield, IL, a manufacturing facility in Lebanon, NJ,

field staff comprised of medical science liaisons and specialty sales reps,

and an office Dublin, Ireland.

Accomplishments included

. Increasing staff from 70 to 200 from March 2005 to June 2006 using

creative recruiting methods which reduced both hiring costs and "fill

time";

. Assisting with the build out of a marketing and sales department,

increasing the size of an outside sales force from 8 to 38 in a six

week period; full responsibility for sourcing, interviewing, hiring

and orientating specialty sales representatives.

. Reducing staff attrition from 28% to 7%.

. Staffing company's first ex-US office in Dublin Ireland; involved
