Process Engineer - Primary responsibility for the engineering design,
fabrication and installation of capital projects up to
$1million. My responsibility started with the request for
capital expenditure and ended with signoff by production and
subsequent monitoring of cost and savings. Major projects
included startup of calcium hydroxide reclaim and barge loading
facility, design and installation of a robotic furnace taping
system.

Work force contained 60 mechanical and 13 electrical with two
separate union bargaining units. Responsibility included
monitoring and controlling cost accounts and overseeing special
projects. Initialized a plant wide preventive maintenance
program establishing regular maintenance on all equipment.
Process Superintendent- Responsible for total plant engineering
including capital projects, energy conservation and
environmental affairs. Personnel report to me included three
engineers, two drafts persons and two consulting firms. Major
projects included the design and installation of a 50MW calcium
carbide furnace (mechanical, structural, and electrical
components), automated material handling system for raw and in-
process material, the design and installation of a coke storage
and processing facility and the installation of finished pad and
warehouse storage.
