STRUCTURAL/CIVIL DESIGN
Designed and drafted steel structures for material handling systems,
pulverizers, belt filters, piping systems, bulk loading/unloading stations
(for trains, trailers), bridge cranes, monorail cranes, and diesel engine
generator enclosures (10 kw to 1500 kw), as well as concrete foundations
for material handling and processing equipment, train car winches, pumps,
and storage tanks.
MECHANICAL DESIGN
Designed and drafted material handling systems (belt conveyors, bucket
elevators, and pneumatic conveyors, chutes, hoppers, bins), pulverizer-
drive units, digester-mixer drive units, and piping/ducting systems using:
Fisher control valves and Foxboro control valves, A53, A501, 316 S.S., 304
S.S., alloy 20, Hestloy, ductile iron, cast iron, fiber glass, HMW,
Neoprene-lined, and steam jacketed piping. Designed and drafted cooling,
fuel supply, and exhaust systems for engine generators. Improved designs
of chassis, brake systems and drive trains for floor sweepers and
scrubbers.
PROJECT/FACILITY MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION
Developed concepts, designed facilities, estimated costs and provided
project management and installation supervision for numerous chemical plant
projects, including establishing hydraulic, fluid, and material handling
systems, and the structure of chemical and fertilizer units. Involved as a
designer and administrator for Boeing's Hard Mobile Launcher and Rail
Garrison projects.
CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
Developed administrative procedures and provided technical assistance and
trouble-shooting for subcontractors and vendors. Analyzed problems and

aspects of budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, documentation,
and planning for the construction of a dam in Jackson, Wyoming.

Coordinated engineering project between numerous Japanese firms (steel
stamping houses, manufacturers, die makers, and parts suppliers) and a U.S.
engineering company. Facilitated a new joint venture corporation in Japan
that manufactured electric generators for Sears Roebuck and Co. Translated
technical design documents and operation manuals for Japanese companies.
