Central Administration office for the Catholic Church in Eastern North
Carolina
The Catholic Diocese of Raleigh (Diocese) is a non-profit for the central
administration office for churches, schools and retreat centers covering
eastern North Carolina from Virginia to South Carolina. The Diocese covers
54 counties and includes 96 churches and 24 schools with an annual
operating budget of $11M. The central administration office also monitors
the annual offertory for the parishes totaling $40M and school tuition
totaling over $10M. Central administration office provides services
related to various ministries such as Hispanic and African American as well
as administrative support. In addition the central operating office
oversees multiple entities including Catholic Social Services, a separately
incorporated social ministry entity with an annual operating budget of $3M
funded by an annual appeal, grants and donations. The Diocese complies
with GAAP and non-profit fund accounting.
. Administrative support includes financing of parish construction
projects, centralized payroll, investment consulting, centralized
property and liability insurance and centralized health insurance.
