. Developed a cross functional team through a major redesign, retooling,
and part submission of a full vehicle interior trim and door trim
panel program (40 tools) including, coordinating numerous last minute
intricate design and engineering changes required to meet customer /
JD Power objectives for fit, finish and function. Thousands of parts
were warehoused and sequenced for shipment at various engineering
change and vehicle build levels until all coordinated changes were
completed having no room for time delay or errors.
EXXON CHEMICAL CORPORATION - Southfield, Michigan (1989- 1991)
Senior Advance Automotive Development Engineer
. Coordinated a start up division to promote new grades of engineered
MIC polypropylene materials to the automotive industry. Required
material ASTM testing, application testing, and supplier / customer
sponsorship for material approvals and certification.
. Instrumental in the first domestic commercial development and
implementation of high crystalline injection molded MIC polypropylene
materials for US automotive applications such as instrument panel
components and interior trim including floor consoles, door trim
panels, hard trim and bumper fascia.
. Awarded the "Most Innovative Use of Plastics Award" by the SPE with a
partner seat supplier for the material design and engineering
development of the first all plastic integrated child seat featured in
the Chrysler Mini-Van.
