and servicer of hydraulic pumps and associated products to both military
and commercial markets, with sales of approximately $200 million per year.)
Initially I began as a Supply Chain Project Specialist, but have also held
roles in planning capacities, supervisory roles, and as a Stock Room
Manager with $40 million in parts and 70,000 part numbers. Currently, I
have cross functional responsibility primarily scheduling discrete repairs
to a variety of products, and serving as needed to manage production teams
and process needs for spare parts orders.
- Currently classified as a "Super User" in QAD software marketed as
Mfg/Pro.
- Establish safety stock and forecast levels for Aftermarket military
and commercial components.
- Participate in cross functional teams for priority customers with
Program Managers and Contract Administrators.
- Routinely participate with external auditors for both military,
commercial customers as well as FAA and government examiners.

Because of my manufacturing and plastics knowledge, I was employed to begin
operations. I had total manufacturing responsibility, including hiring,
purchasing, training, set up of quality systems, and shipping. After ramp
up and establishment of 24/7 operations, the business model was found to be
flawed, and profits were minimal. Operations ceased after my departure,
but I continued occasionally as a consultant in the liquidation of the
assets.

I was responsible for sales in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama
entailing large scale projects. This typically required on site diagnosis
of mechanical and electrical failures and accurately communicating the
scope of work required for quoting these projects. Reported to Company

Leggett & Platt, Tupelo, MS August 1992 - April 1996
Manufacturing Engineering Manager
(This company manufactures a variety of metal products for the furniture
industry, utilizing a vertically integrated facility.)
I was responsible for all labor costs, methods, processes, and
manufacturing engineering efforts. Additionally, I managed print
documentation, capital budget submissions, capital expenditures, capital
installations, and new process launches.
- During implementation of new MRP system I restructured BOMs and
flattened product structures.
- Direct labor costs were reduced by restructuring team labor standards,
eliminating labor variances.
- Manufacture of over 30 million cold headed rivets per year was
modernized, eliminating 16 older machines, and replacing them with 4
high speed units.
- Plant wash and paint systems were modernized resulting in lower
emissions and utility costs. Plant manufacturing space was revised
resulting in a layout that shortened manufacturing and queue times.
- Stamping tooling was revised to allow multiple parts per stroke and
achieve higher material utilization and higher production rates.
