Technical Services Manager - 2002 to present:
Research and resolve all customer quality complaints to minimize losses to Wellstone
and our customers. Provide input and advise Manufacturing to correct quality issues
and institute procedures to prevent similar quality problems in the future. Assist
Manufacturing and customers in new product development of specialty and technical
textiles.
Process Improvement Manager for Weaving - 2001 - 2002:
Monitor safety, quality, and production of Gaffney, S.C. and Spartanburg, S.C.
weaving operations. Instituted audits of fabric quality, plant safety, and machinery
maintenance. Researched new technology applications and advise upper management of
the feasibility to apply these to improve competitive position in the industry.
Plant Superintendent of Spinning - Gaffney, S.C. Plant - 1998 - 2001:
Manage day to day operation of ring spinning plant. Facility operated 24/7 with 4
shifts of 12 hours each, 175 hourly employees, and producing 320,000 pounds of ring
spun yarns for apparel weekly. Responsible for insuring safety, quality,
productivity, and maintenance and supplies costs to meet and exceed goals.
1995 - 1998 Arkwright Mills Spartanburg, S.C.
Weaving Superintendent:
Manage day to day operations of 24/7 weaving plant supplying fabric to apparel,
industrial, and military segments. Responsible for meeting safety, quality, and
production goals for department with 170 associates, 210 rapier weaving machines, 2
slashers for yarn warp preparation, and draw in operation required to meet quick
change needs of customers. Scheduled departmental machinery changes to meet fabric
deliveries and minimize downtime.
1976 - 1995 Reeves Brothers, Inc. Woodruff, S.C.
Technical/Quality Manager- 1989 - 1995:
Direct daily operation of Quality Laboratory to insure all quality parameters are
met or exceeded for delivery of first quality fabric to apparel, military, and
industrial customers. Establish statistical process controls for all manufacturing
processes to reduce variability and maintain quality requirements.
Production/Scheduling Manager - 1983 -1989:
Schedule vertical fabric weaving plant to efficiently meet fabric deliveries to
multiple customers. Working with Sales, duties required efficient scheduling of
machinery and process changes and timely delivery of required raw materials to meet
fabric customers' needs. Developed Lotus computer program which reduced fabric
delivery quotes by four hours.
Yarn Preparation Manager- 1976- 1983:
Manage 3 shifts, 90 employee department to deliver quality, cost effective yarns to
Weaving Department. Manage costs to meet labor, supplies and repairs and maintenance
budgets.
