Standard, process and job costing:
Solid experience maintaining standard costs on manufactured and purchased
goods. Responsible for year-end cost roll on manufactured goods, and
quarterly cost roll on purchased goods. Developed labor and overhead rates

system modules, and identified and resolved issues upon discovery. Primary

Inventory Control and Analysis Responsibilities:
Expertise in inventory control, analysis and audit, for up to $35M of raw
material, work in process and finished product. Identified excess and
obsolete inventory; maintained reserve according to company policies.
Communicated at-risk inventory status to sales force to prevent excess
inventory. Reported inventory metrics monthly, quarterly and annually.
Coordinated quarterly and annual physical inventory audit of raw materials,
WIP and finished goods. Implemented cycle count program including training
the materials teams to use the cycle count program of the accounting
software and gaining support company-wide. Reconciled GL to subsidiary
inventory ledgers, including analysis and explanation of monthly variances.
Assisted Materials Manager with tracking on-hand inventory balance issues
to ensure sufficient supply of raw material for production and eliminating
excess carrying costs.
Variance analysis
Nine years performing labor, overhead and absorption analysis leading to
process improvements and uncovering inefficiencies and BOM errors.
Calculating and evaluating price, volume, and mix variance for
manufacturing operations to ensure efficient and cost effective operations.
Purchase Price Variance analysis communicating adherence to purchase
contracts. Extensive experience tracking cost center expenses, job expenses
and comparisons to budget. Worked extensively with manufacturing engineers
and participated in several Lean Manufacturing events. Aged and analyzed
WIP to identify and resolved problematic orders.
Financial Reporting:
Proficient in most financial information systems, including SAP, Oracle,
Business Objects, Impromptu and Excel. Solid experience preparing
financial statements including income statements, operating statements,
balance sheets, cash flows statements, and miscellaneous ad hoc reporting
as required. Analysis of gross profit and contribution by product line and
customer. Solid experience preparing and entering journal entries,
analyzing account data, reconciling balance sheet accounts and ensuring
company statements are prepared in accordance with both GAAP and SOX
requirements.
Budgeting:
Experience working with managers throughout all phases of budgeting
process: worked with engineers to determine budgeted costs of large scale
projects, and evaluated progress; worked with Sales Managers to forecast
sales, rolled that down to production, inventory and purchasing
requirements to support manufacturing levels, and developed cost center
budgets for Production, Purchasing and Engineering of product.
Process Improvements:
Significant experience improving the reporting processes in a manufacturing
environment for both small and medium-sized companies. This includes
evaluating the informational needs of various departments; data mining to
obtain detailed production information and developing reports to
communicate the information to management. Verified accuracy of system
information between entities, modules and departments, which in turn
encouraged department personnel to abandon off-line systems in favor of the
company software. Ensured data consistency, accuracy and availability
across company functions. Trained personnel in MRP theory, data entry for
unfamiliar software, and developing standard operating procedures for
reporting manufacturing and material transactions.
