I am the Global Business Director for our Aerospace and Aircraft
Maintenance Department at 3M USA Region-United States-Minnesota-Maplewood.
Responsible for driving growth programs for the surface protection
business with a significant focus on military and defense markets
platforms. Major Duties and responsibilities include.
Strategic Management/ Business Planning:
. Consult with Department Operations Committee to set short-term
strategic direction and operating plans for Global Surface Protection
Business, and define guidelines/ methods for such.
. Initiate and approve projects to continuously improve efficiency and
competitiveness.
. Ensure the understanding and buy-in of functional leaders and
customers.
. Interact with customers and communicate internally with other
functional leaders.
. Share vision for surface Protection and demonstrate company values.
. Develop and support alliances in support of strategy. Provide support
as needed to business M & A Strategy.
. Takes responsibility for decisions and actions.
Marketing Management:
. Management responsibility for product marketing of AAMD Surface
Protection products, setting business priorities, timetables, and
accountable for activities and results of the business.
. Implement market plans for new and existing products. Identifies and
define significant market/ product opportunities to meet sales and
growth objectives.
. Partner with sales to develop strategic customer relationship
approaches, employ appropriate communication channels, and drive
communication plans.
. Determine portfolio based on analysis and develop pricing strategies.
Business Development:
. Determine best solutions for complex problems and implement them.
Utilize resources from within Surface Protection Business Team to help
grow and maintain the Surface Protection Business.
. Develop high level contacts at key positions at various customers to
drive business.
Supervisory:
. Provided direct supervision to assigned employees.
. Responsible to direct and/ or indirect physical or logical access to
information, systems technologies subjected to the regulations/
compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.

. Masters, Business Development, U of M, Minneapolis, MN
. 14 years of Business Development and/ Marketing Experience with 3M
Maplewood, MN.
. 14 years of Aerospace, Military and/ Defense Experience with 3M
Maplewood, MN.
. B.S., Marketing, St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, MN
. Significant experience in areas such as market research, channel/
product marketing, business/ marketing development, branding.
. I work well under pressure and am able to interact with people in
departments throughout the company.
. Understands the business objectives and can act in a decisive manner
to achieve financial results.
