Selected Accomplishments
Lead a cross functional project team whose scope was to reduce defects.
Result: The team generated and implemented action items that reduced
defects by 95%. Cycle time was reduced from 60 days to 14 days and there
was a reduction in MRB man-hours by 448 man-hours.
As a Contract Engineer, lead the effort to obtain TS16949 with a key
automotive supplier. Worked with the management team to assure
implementation of all requirements of TS16949. Result: This effort lead to
certification with no major findings.
Managed a project team of engineers and inspectors to successfully PPAP 88
tools. The tools had to run parts to the design intent and documentation
had to be submitted to the customer. Result: After successful PPAP
submission, $2 million tooling money was awarded and unrestricted
production could begin.
Cut production costs and increased First Time Yield due to systematic
problem solving with teams. Result: Production costs decreased by $200000
and First Time Yield went from 60% to 95% in less than one year. This also
enabled us to become a certified supplier and obtain additional business.
Launched a new product with a new customer in a new plant. Result:
Obtained PPAP approval from the customer and launched the product on time
with no major quality issues or major production delays. Worked hand in
hand with the customer, design, suppliers, and manufacturing.
Problem solved over 20 open and delinquent corrective action requests.
This exercise entailed forming teams and engaging in detailed problem
solving with extensive documentation. Result: All open corrective action
requests were closed by the customer in less than six months.
Developed a supplier quality assurance program. This included performing
audits, establishing a supplier day activity, generating an incoming
inspection program, and supplier certification /decertification. Results:
Incoming quality improved, supplier Parts Per Million (PPM's) decreased and
manufacturing costs were lowered.
