dry bulk tank trailers, predominantly for transportation of petroleum and
cement.
Consultant, Jan 2010- March 2010
. Contracted to oversee completion of specialty line set up, finalize
process change for mounting of tank to remove quality issue, and
fixture upgrades.
General Manager, Nov 2007 - Jan 2010
. Oversaw all operations in Nebraska and South Carolina with
budget/capital planning to meet plant and corporate mission, visions,
objectives and full P&L.
. Directed union contract negotiations and grievances.
. Managed team of 13 direct reports, 156 indirect for operations,
supply, engineering, sales, accounting, purchasing, scheduling,
maintenance, human resources and after market services.
. Combined resources for supply, engineering, accounting, and HR to
support both plants from one location.
. Fabrication equipment included rollers, seam welders, flangers,
plasma, shears, brake presses.
. Executed 5S and other lean initiatives which reduced injuries by 60%
and training time by 25-35%, decreased downtime and interruptions on
the floor and improved engineering process time by 20% and quality by
50%, main issue was leak prevention.
. Hosted several improvement project teams and floor improvement events.
. I combined two plants, one 65,000 sq. ft. the other 230,000 sq ft. I
put teams in place and monitored the progress for the layout design
and entire project implementation. This was a 1.5 million dollar
investment that I directed over approximately 9 months. The plant
maintained its full production during the integration. This required
about 80,000 sq. ft. of the 230,000 to have new plumbing, floors,
installed a 20X60 paint booth, overhead fall protection, building
structure changes, electrical, and EPA permitting.
. I have been through full OSHA and EPA surprise inspections by the
city, state, and federal enforcer, safety, and environmental
inspectors. The penalty outcomes were 75% below the industry and
national averages.
. Responsible to make sure that the DOT, and "R" stamp regulations were
being followed. Under my leadership LBT was recertified for the ASME R
stamp in November of 2009.
. All major components, barrel, piping, structural, chassis were
fabricated and welded in house to LBT certification approved by the
DOT and ASME.
. Provided on-going strategic, objective and business planning at
corporate and plant level.
