In 2001 EDS bought the Sabre IT group. I continued to support the
Production environment, under
A signed contract agreement between AA/Sabre and EDS. Proven abilities in
installing and maintaining Production SUN/HP-Solaris/Linux Servers. Our
group was responsible for 500+ Production servers.
The servers were in the American Airlines Data Centers in Fort Worth, Texas
and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
I worked closely with the other engineering teams, ie., DB, Application,
Networking and Storage Teams.
I was responsible for building and maintaining 60+ Unix servers: Most were
Sun Solaris v2.6, 8, 9 & 10.
Running on SUN H/W including: e420r's, e450's, e3500's, v240's, v880's and
x4200's. Several were
HP H/W including DL380's and DL585's, running RedHat Linux v3, 4 & 5.
Worked with Backup
& Restore team to install, configure and test end to end successful
backups. Worked with Network
Team to assure secure network connections. Worked with Storage team to
allocate LUNS per
Client requests, including allocation of file systems and raw devices. I
used Veritas Foundation
Suite products to setup & configure root disk mirrors, oracle and
application file systems and
mirrors. I installed the UNIX OS, patches & 3rd party software products,
