Achievements:
Designed and implemented a New Hire Benefits Orientation Program which has resulted in a
98% participation rate in the 401(k) plan. Saved the company over $350,000 through successful
negotiations with Life Insurance Vendor on company paid premiums. Served as Project Lead in
developing a Benefits Web/IVR system through ADP, which has reduced the need for additional
headcount in the Benefits Department. Instrumental in providing the company with additional cost
savings ideas, which will result in an additional $500k savings per year. Instrumental in the
company successfully passing annual audits on the Retirement & Savings plan (Pension Plan) for
past 10 years due to accurate recordkeeping and plan testing. Recently conducted a company-
wide Dependent Audit which resulted in a $250,000 annual savings in medical costs.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and benchmark benefit programs against current and emerging trends. Ensure that all benefit
programs are progressive, competitive and cost effective. Make recommendations for change as needed.
Manage the overall setup and maintenance of benefit selections, accruals and tracking via the HRIS system
(PeopleSoft). Leads the annual initiative for on-line open enrollment through ADP. Create and provide
communication materials Benefit Summaries and Summary Plan Descriptions and all mandated
communications related to benefits administration. Monitor claims experience, administration fees, and
utilization of all benefit plans. Audit and maintain benefit plan documents for compliance with governmental
regulations. Oversee the fiduciary and compliance process for the company’s Defined Contribution
(Retirement Plan) to include coordination of investment selection meetings- keeping minutes, performing
annual pension calculations, responsible for coordinating Non-Discrimination, ADP/ACP and other required
testing relating of the 401(k) and Pension plan. Maintain proper documents for all SOX related controls.
Liaison for internal and external Benefits related audits. Keep abreast of current legislation to proactively
project costs, create communication plans, and coordinate changes to HRIS system requirements and third
party interfaces in preparation to adopt new legislative decisions as they occur. Coordinate the administration
of all phases of team member benefit programs by overseeing and managing documents for implementation
of changes and processing of claims including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drugs, Disability, Life,
Long-Term Care, Pre-Tax Spending Accounts, Childcare, Fitness Center, Retirees, Cobra Administration and
HIPPA compliance. Responsible for coordinating and supplying all required internal and external reports
pertaining to benefit programs. Assist Manager in administering the Executive Compensation Program
