worked directly
with the architect, starting in design, and proceeding through the
construction documents of educational facilities. I learned tilt-up
concrete, masonry and curtain wall construction methods. I was assigned the
difficult task of creating the drawings to recreate a 1929 art

electrical schematics under the direction of engineers.
Rocky Mountain Fabrication Salt Lake City, UT
Structural Steel Detailer
At Rocky Mountain Fabrication I created shop and field drawings for the
construction and erection of steel process and storage tanks. I learned a
lot more goes into building these tanks than rolling plate steel into a
cylinder. Many had nozzles that required structural
reinforcing. Many were built with legs. Some had stairways and platforms
attached. I learned
a lot about structural steel and how it is utilized.
