PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
W. R Grace Specialty Chemicals, Manufacturing Leadership Program
Lake
Charles, LA; Mount Pleasant, TN; Cambridge, MA; Santa Ana, CA
2006 - 2009
Plant Engineer - Six Sigma Black Belt
. Championed Six-Sigma and Lean initiatives with sound engineering to
implement productivity and waste reduction projects. Enhanced
throughput rate by 22% and reduced downtime by 37% as a result of
Engineering and Six Sigma driven projects.
. Project manager of capital and continuous improvement projects,
resulting in increased manufacturing variance from standard operating
costs, capturing total project savings of $143,000 to date.
. Design, re-engineer, negotiate pricing and procurement of existing and
future plant equipment
. Proficiency in Minitab software, statistical analysis and the DMAIC
process allowed for implementation of data driven system improvements
resulting in project continuous improvement milestones geared towards
optimizing production and reducing manufacturing waste .
. Manager of Maintenance Department and manufacturing personnel
providing leadership for all aspects of facility, equipment uptime and
process capabilities, with the underlining goal of maintaining
equipment reliability and strengthening total quality of finished
product.
. Coupled facility equipment mechanical reliability with statistical
testing to disprove the effectiveness of long established Preventative
Maintenance plan for commissioning of sister plant. Disproving the PM
effectiveness reduced frequency of scheduled PM, materials, & allowed
for additional production during previously schedule PM interval.
Resulted in project savings of $65,000 for fiscal '07.
. Lead daily briefings to Production Supervisors and Department Managers
on the status of projected shipping schedules and production issues in
regards to the different process lines.
. Reassigned to newly constructed facility, as a Six Sigma change agent
to drive natural gas utility waste, in-process product waste, standard
work of employees, and SMED/changeover projects
. Front-line management of WR Grace Fireproofing Monokote on the various
process lines by supervising production staff. Involved coordination
with front line employees, our local receivers, and other distributors
to provide high quality product loaded and shipped in a timely manner.
Pfizer Global Manufacturing Inc., Lititz, PA
2004 - 2004
Process Technology Internship
. Stressed cGMP knowledge used in Qualification of work with production,
engineering, quality control, and other associated groups to
complete equipment, facility, scale-up and validation projects
related to the support of the manufacturing and packaging of Listerine
. Verified Listerine Batch Upgrade system including P&IDs and assembly
drawings, proper documentation of system tests, and designing the
system around "red-line" changes
. Particular attention was given to Listerine batch upgrade projects
with a focus on the development and execution of IQ, OQ, and PQ
protocols for equipment and work on stability sampling
. Performed bulk hold studies for Lubriderm Lotion and Dilantin
suspension
United States Army Reserves
2001 - 2009
Administrative Specialist
. Administrative training courses encompassed: organizational skills,
word processing, program management, and command control of an Army
unit
. Systems management of Army Reserve base
. Completed three levels of training: Leadership & Development,
Communication, and Resource Utilization
