Senior Manager, Compensation and Benefits

Designed, implemented, and administered company-wide compensation and

benefit systems. Managed HRIS system and HR Operations. Interim

responsibility for the recruiting function, and affirmative action

planning.

. Reduced benefit spending by $1.3 million in the first year while managing

the recruiting function.

. Over a seven month period, hired five additional recruiters and

subsequently 350 new employees with information technology and medical

backgrounds.

. Introduced a comprehensive Wellness Program for staff and attained a

69.7% participation rate.

. Managed the conversion of the HRIS system from CostPoint to Ceridian

platform.

PRAIRIE MEADOWS RACETRACK AND CASINO, INC., Altoona, IA 2003 - 2006

Supervised a twelve-person Human Resources department. Responsible for

labor relations with three unions and employee relations with non-union

staff; recruiting; design, implementation and administration of a

combination market/point factor analysis compensation system; all benefit

plans (qualified and nonqualified); training and development including

customer service assessments; corporate risk management including workers

compensation and safety; and represented the HR department in company-wide

strategic planning.

. In three months, hired and trained 300 staff members to support a new

line of business (table games).

. Successfully negotiated labor agreements with three unions, increasing

their duration from 3 to 5 years.
