Hired into a newly created position to turn around the financial situation
of this nursing care facility. Improved cash flow by organizing and
collecting delinquent accounts receivable. Reconciled general ledger
accounts and setup proper accruals. Defined procedures and established the
flow of information to generate accurate and timely financial reports.
Involved in the company's insurance, financing and strategic decision
making. Worked with Medicare and insurance companies. Prepared workpapers
for the auditors.

Restructured the accounting and business processes which enabled the
company to achieve profitability and positive cash flow. The business is
now experiencing controlled growth of 20% over the previous year, while

THE SCHEBLER CO - $20M sheet metal job shop and metal parts manufacturer

Installed a new computer system where there had been several failed
attempts to make it work. Within three months the system was operating,
financial information was current, accounting procedures were in place to
control the data input and the system information was balanced and
accurate. Instructed managers and office staff on how to use the
information and interpret the data from the new reports.
Managed all of the CFO's functions including audits by bankers, CPA's and
investors as the company was being prepared to be sold. The company was
sold in January, 2000.
CURTIS COMPUTER PRODUCTS - $40M manufacturer and distributor of computer

Hired to consolidate 5 companies sales, collections and accounts
receivables into
one system. Completed the project 8 months ahead of schedule. Trained the
staff,
identified shipping errors and order entry errors, streamlined the entire
revenue system and
established credit policies.
IPSCO STEEL INC - $600M manufacturer of steel
Financial Manager
1996 - 1998
Involved in all of the accounting areas for the $75M Fabricating Division (
3 plant locations), including supervision, capital budget, annual operating
budget, credit analysis, collections, accruals, journal entries and
financial statements.
During this same time I assisted in the development of systems, established
procedures, reconciled accounts, created reports and assisted in the
capital and operating budgets for a $400M steel mill that was under
construction.

* Streamlined the invoicing and accounting systems by reducing the
steps necessary to process invoices from 82 to 27, resulting
in more productivity and a higher level of satisfaction.
Credit and Accounts Receivable Supervisor
1985 - 1995
Accounted for and controlled cash, receivables, invoicing, credit memos and
other rebate programs. Interacted with major customers across the country,
Canada and Puerto Rico to resolve problems and created alternative
financing solutions. Supervised the day-to-day activities of six people.
* Teamed with the MIS group in the design and implementation of a
new credit and accounts receivable system enabling the existing
staff to handle additional work as the company sales grew from $200M to
$800M. Maintained department expenses, including bad debts, at less than
1/2% of sales.
* Controlled the reconciliation of cash, sales, rebates credits and
accounts receivable.
* Assigned credit lines to a 12,000 account customer base.
* Researched and recommended the Corporate Credit Manager software
system and established criteria for evaluating credit lines.
* Decentralized the credit memo system to eliminate mailing, copying
and filing of documents.
* Maintained a 30 day DSO while keeping bad debts to less than 1/2%
of sales.
